So this doesn’t look like an especially hand-made scenery update. Pearl Harbor in Hawaii has left overs of ugly Bing maps water texture all over the place
Automation is great at scale, but it needs to be touched up by humans when it fails.
This is a great use case for assisted QA using AI and CV “anti-pattern” detection to alert humans in the loop that some human intervention is needed for a touch up before release.
I have no idea why MS isn’t doing this, as putting out even a free update with this quality is a terrible practice.
You could maybe get away with if the location was some backwater nobody ever visits (and even then there’s a solid case for no, you should fix it there too), but this was an update to Hawaii, and this is arguably the most iconic spot in Hawaii let alone being a peak historical memorial of global significance related to WW2.

I am getting ready to do a flight over there and was just checking a few things out ahead of time to see what I needed to grab for payware to make it a more enjoyable experience.
I checked out Pearl Harbour first and found it didn’t look good at all. Seafront Simulations Hawaiian islands fixed it up nice!
