Do we need to install world updates in msfs 2024? Isn’t the world scenery always up to date?
Everything is in the cloud.
So the latest announcement (Brazil) is only for MSFS 2020, and we can keep the 2020 world updates deactivated in 2024. Right?

No, it’s for both titles. Why would they release a scenery update for FS2020 only? The only difference is you will need to install it manually in 2020.
If the scenery in 2024 is always up to date it does not need any world updates. So the world updates would only be necessary for 2020. That’s how I understand the cloud system.
Now I got two opposing answers. Which one is right? 
Not sure about this, but the reason may be that the World Update packages contain much more than scenery. While I don’t partake of that extra stuff myself, I am leaving all of them in place in 24 until MS recommends otherwise. Why mess with their transition plans for our content?
World Update is what will keep FS2024 “up to date”. Asobo still need to develop it and release to the cloud. It’s the same World Update whether you download it manually to FS2020 or it gets streamed from the cloud in FS2024.

I am still trying to understand this. There are handcrafted airports and buildings, monuments, etc. in the WUs and they are enabled by default in FS2024.
But on the other hand, people observed that WUs take the priority also on better handcrafted models specifically made for FS2024, for example in this post and the following.
I posted this specific question in another thread and I did not receive any answer. There is the possibility that not even the devs know where it’s better to enable WUs and it’s a case by case scenario… a real mess!

maybe it’s the same world update on paper per se, but in real experience usage, 2020 is superior due to the local download vs poor textured streaming 2020
Don’t world updates consist of mostly streamed data in 2020 as well? Most of the data you store locally are just POIs.
Nope, you download the WU on the PC, that’s why the game grows in size with each update
Anything Official yet from MS/Asobo stating that we should import/download the 2020 WU in MS2024?
