World War I aircraft in development?

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into any aircraft from World War One (WWI) that are in development.

At one time two separate Sopwith aircraft were in initial development by one of my favorite high quality developers, but I lost contact with them after multiple attempts over the past months, so I am not sure if they will see the light of day.

For anyone with info, no need for the developer name especially if thus far unannounced, but any hints or even just a yes, a Sopwith, Halberstadt, Fokker, etc by aircraft name would be great.

Of WW1-era aircraft, I only know of the following five or so that have been released:

Big Radials Nieuport 17
Flysimware Nieuport 24 (FSX port)
Got-Friends (freeware) Fokker Dr.1
Freeware Sikorsky S-16
iniBuilds (I think?) Curtiss Jenny (included in 40th Anniversary)
Redwing Farman F.60 Goliath (slightly post-war but I’ll count it)

I’m hoping we’ll see a lot more even though I realize we’re talking quite a niche within FS. Anyone else interested in these old birds? Do we think there is enough of a market for them?

the only two I would add as essential to the WWI catalog are the SE5a Scout and the Fokker DVII and I would pay above the average MSFS addon rate for either or both in good quality.

I feel like a Sopwith Camel should be included for fs5 nostalgia.

only if accurate flight physics regarding the weight and effects of rotary engines is modeled. So far though…

There is also a Bréguet XIV from Restauravia (freeware).

A heavy enough propellor might get you somewhat-good-enough rotary, providing the game doesn’t get very upset about it…

Camel, Bristol fighter, SE5 ( there is a freeware SE5 as well as a Sopwith Triplane ), Gotha, Vimy ( probably more famous for what it did post war, mind ) Eindecker, D.VII, various Spads are all fairly famous. I’m very surprised there’s no Avro 504 yet, there were an awful lot of them.

There is also a Dorand AR1 on Simmarket ( an aircraft I’ve never heared of! ).

Unfortunately seeing a list of wants and not a list of known developments. To add to that, I’m really hoping for a Sopwith Pup and a Sopwith Camel.

Pup and Camel are on the list to be re-done :wink: so many toys, not enough time…

EXCELLENT news. (In case it’s not obvious, you’re the dev I lost contact with via email in my original post above haha). Glad you’re doing well (and congrats on the coming soon Flying Wing).

A Pup and a Camel in your quality (thinking of the P3D era)…dreams come true!

I came here because I’ve got exactly the same question. I’m mainly interested in the Fokker D.VII, Fokker Dr.1 and Sopwith Camel.

I unfortunately am stuck with the marketplace, as I can only play on Xbox.
(PC died a while back and getting a new/better/suitable one is way above my budget)

Nothing on deck as far as I’m aware, and I know that Rara-Avis is prioritizing a few other aircraft first due to the level of work involved to bring a Pup and Camel forward that meets expectations in this generation of sim.
I’m guessing most other devs except maybe RedWing are shying away from this era because of a low return on investment. People just aren’t interested in aircraft this old.
