Sometimes I cant decide where to fly , what to go see…
So maybe an option to spawn a random location , either an airport or an altitude in either a plane of your choice or also random could be fun.
And maybe youll spawn a 747 on a 1000ft grass strip but you can deal with it or respawn… maybe a smart function that matches chosen airplane with appropriate airport. And at altitude it wouldn’t matter…
its just an idea , we have the whole world to see
An interesting idea. I’m not sure about random spawns at altitude though. There’s a lot of empty ocean out there, and the nearest airport might be beyond fuel range in some of the GA aircraft.
If you want to try it, there’s a website https://www.random.org/geographic-coordinates/ that says it creates random global coordinates. It may be possible to use them in-game. I’ll give it a try, and report back.

Awesome utility! Random feature chooses an airport and can spawn you anywhere around the world. I have it drop me on a one-mile final (it knows the runways), but you can set up any altitude or parameter. There are lots of other functions, and you can operate it from your phone or tablet. Not free, but there is a free 14 day trial, and it is relatively inexpensive. As an instructor, it is extremely useful.
The random position generator website I linked above seems to work. It outputs coordinates like this:
Latitude: -12.98637, Longitude: -42.94033
You can edit them so, and then feed them to the search field in the game map:
-12.98637,-42.94033 (note the comma)
It isn’t really random in that you see on the website map roughly where you are. I’ve just tried it, and I’m somewhere over Brazil. I picked the Savage Cub to try it in, so I can’t cheat with GPS. I’ve got 50% fuel, which may give me enough range to find an airfield, though it’s getting dark soon, and I may have to cheat with that. As of right now, I’m climbing to get a better look. I think there’s a river to the west, so if I find it, and follow it downstream (which should be east though I can’t count on it because rivers meander)), I should find civilisation eventually. Or at least have a chance to land by some sort of settlement where I can ask for directions.

This should really be in the wishlist forum if you’re serious about it. RNG’ing my aircraft position is personally not a feature I’m interested in, especially if developing it comes at the cost of something I do care about. In the interim, perhaps try wearing a blind-fold and clicking somewhere on the world map. I think the effect would be similar.

Oh come on. That post had a bit of me in it. Also, there are defensible pieces of the software. Others are less, or not, defensible. It depends. In this case, I would not vote on the wishlist for an RNGenerator that places me randomly. I can click the map randomly. Asobo’s bandwidth can be better applied elsewhere in my opinion.
