yes

Brief description of the issue:

  • That airport has 2 windsocks, 1 located on a side of the GA parking and another one on the hill beside the 09 runway. With WU16, there are now 4 windsocks. 2 needs to be removed and 1 moved to the correct location.
  • The new windsocks are red only and too small. The ones that came before WU16 should have been used.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Before WU16, GA parking. Windsock is misplaced:

After WU16, a new windsock has been added to the correct location but the incorrect one not removed:

IRL:

Before WU16, 09 runway. Windsock is not at the correct location (and pointing to the wrong direction):

After WU16, 2 windsocks at the incorrect location (the white/red one is pointing to the wrong direction, see wind direction). The windsock should be located on the hill where the green tick is:

IRL:

ICAO or coordinates (DevMode > Debug > Display position)

TFFS - Les Saintes, Terre De Haut
Airport name should be corrected too, it comes as “Le Saints, Terre De Haut” instead of “Les Saintes, Terre De Haut”

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

start the plane a TFFS and move the plane where the windsocks are located

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

I have just uploaded a quick&dirty fix until Microsoft/Asobo/Gaia fix it.

Asobo haven’t even checked this airport before releasing it. How can something as basic as having 2 windsocks next to each other both facing in opposite directions be right?

It says fixed in SU15:

But it does not come in SU15 release notes and I confirm it is not fixed:

Apparently this was supposed to already have been fixed, but clearly wasn’t. One of the 4 windsocks points 180 degrees opposite to the actual wind direction , and the windsock locations are all wrong. Seems like a very basic fix, not something that takes months to address…

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

That airport was included in yesterday World Hub Update. We don’t have the details of the changes but looks like the 2 correct windsocks (white/orange) have been added. Unfortunately the orange ones that come with the scenery are still there so they are duplicated. Maybe they cannot be removed through the World Hub because it is a bespoke airport ?.

Hey DementedCorn,
This was my airport. Here are my [rather verbose] notes for this airport:

This submission will not close this bug report in the forums:
WU16 TFFS Les Saintes Windsocks issues
However, it will put the two windsocks (which were both in the wrong place, and one pointing 180° the wrong way) in the proper place so they can be excluded by the bespoke airport.

Airport:

  1. Moved windsock from 15.865313, -61.579495 to 15.865218, -61.579034 (see note #4)
  2. Moved windsock at 15.864075, -61.582488 to 15.864474, -61.582875 and changed its heading to 0° as it was inaccurate (see notes #3 and #4)
  3. Fixed several grass aprons covering items on the ground so that they didn’t stand out as much
  4. Added vegetation that appears on the ground but didn’t seem to get detected by the system

Runway 09-27:

  1. Changed width from 15 m to 18 m (see note #2)
  2. Removed several intermediate apron vertices to make runway appear straighter
  3. Changed from asphalt to cement

Taxiways:

  1. Added two taxiway signs (see note #4)
  2. Changed from asphalt to cement

Ramp:

  1. Changed from asphalt to cement
  2. Renumbered parking so that it goes from 1-5 left to right instead of haphazard
  3. Converted fuel box parking to regular parking (see note #5)

Notes:

  1. In order to fix this bug: WU16 TFFS Les Saintes Windsocks issues , someone is going to have to adjust the bespoke airport and exclude some windsocks. However, the windsocks in the default airport are in the wrong place. So the intention of this fix is to put them in the right place so they can be excluded once, correctly. (In my opinion, the default airport should always be fixed before creating a bespoke airport.)
  2. I have no charts for this airport, so I have no information on the official width of the runway. However, the real runway has four threshold stripes, which means that it is probably 18 m wide. The SDK has a bug where at 18 m, it still shows only 2 stripes. I am not going to manually add more stripes to the runway in order to get it right: I think that the bug in the SDK needs to be fixed.
  3. There is no visual clue in Bing, Google, or Apple Maps as to where the runway 09 windsock is. I watched some videos and know that it’s on the hill (see also https://forums.flightsimulator.com/uploads/default/original/4X/4/b/7/4b7f97186bc7878affde15d77b47f9caf69908b4.jpeg ), but that did not help me. So I took a guess. Regardless of my guess, it’s better than where it was placed in the bespoke TFFS from World Update 16, which was just wrong.
  4. I believe that my placement of the midfield windsock and two taxiway signs is also more accurate than the bespoke airport. Mine were done via Bing coordinates. The bespoke taxiway sign for the center taxiway is really wrong. In the bespoke version, it’s on the copilot’s side, when you can clearly see in the aerial that it’s on the captain’s side.
  5. I see no fuel pumps or tanks (where the pumps are usually located) in the aerials for Bing, Google, or Apple Maps. The bespoke TFFS has a custom fuel parking spot, but there are still no pumps in the bespoke version.

And there’s going to be an update in August because I made a mistake and made the runway 18 m wide when it should have been 15 m. Next month, it will be fixed.

Just for a little background: Bespoke airports cannot be touched in the World Hub. A bespoke airport can have as much or as little of the default airport as the developer wants. Any bug reports about double windsocks at bespoke airports are going to be because the developer decided to add their own windsocks to the bespoke airport instead of using the default windsocks. (As an aside, this is usually a giant pet peeve of mine because I believe that the best practice would be to fix as much of the default airport as possible and use it instead of reinventing the wheel. This airport is an exception, though, because they used custom windsocks.)

The reason I submitted this to the World Hub is because at some point, in order to fix this, the default windsocks are going to have to be excluded from the bespoke airport. However, the default windsocks were in the wrong place. If anyone were to ever move them, they would move out of the so-called exclusion rectangle in the bespoke package and reappear. So I put them in the right place so that that scenario wouldn’t happen. (Note: My windsocks are in a more correct position than the bespoke airport windsocks.)

Unfortunately, I don’t know the exact coordinates of the windsock on the hill because I can’t find it in the aerial. If you happen to know those coordinates, I can submit a change before the World Hub closes on Monday.

Thanks for all the explanation  .

Unfortunately I don’t have it.
Reviewing the VAC (2021), both windsocks are incorrectly located vs IRL:
