Come visit the Portuguese Azores in the mid-north Atlantic and see how these beautiful islands, although officially neutral in WW2, greatly helped the Allies. Visit the two main WW2 airfields including one kept secret during construction to protect Portugal’s “neutrality”. See some scenic sights as we fly between the two airfields. Hope you enjoy. Cheers.

Hello, nice video. Small correction, the Airbase is not a “joint” airbase, it is a Portuguese Air Base since 1942, initially Army, then from 1952 onwards, Portuguese Air Force.
It supported the RAF from 1943 to 1946, and from 1946 until now, the USAF has had a strong presence there. Best wishes.

Thanks. Maybe I should have said “joint operations from there” or something like that. Main point I was trying to convey is that Portugal, USA and NATO all operate from there. Cheers.
On his book “Fate is the Hunter” Ernst K. Gann made some references of his scales at Azores during his Air Transport Service on WW2.

I understand. But the former PtAF pilot in me spoke louder. I enjoyed the video, thank you so much!
