WwiseLibPCx64P.dll CTD before game even starts

Hi, I get WwiseLibPCx64P.dll as the faulting module on startup. Can’t even get to the first spinning wheel screen. The simulator works once on startup (EDIT: only works if you start up the sim faster than Razer Cortex Game Booster can start ), then this crash every time until another restart.

I have tried all the “fixes” for this: no MSI Afterburner/Process Lasso, uninstalled Nahimic (not realtek) services, updated AND uninstalled Realtek drivers, community folder. Is there anything else I can try? This just started happening suddenly.

EDIT: Solution: don’t use auto-boost (or just uninstall) Razer Cortex Game Booster (thanks GxMech7350!)

I’m not sure you read my initial post, but I have tried all of these solutions. Still get the error. Obviously I’ve done a search, if I have tried all the fixes I listed in my post.

I had the same issue. I found that Razer Cortex Game Boost was running and causing this issue. It started after the program updated on Friday. I pulled my hair out all weekend and finally found it today. No further issues. I initially noticed if I was quick to launch the sim before everything loaded in, it would work.

Ah, thank you! I also have Cortex Game Boost.

I’ll give this a try. Definitely different than the other suggestions I searched for on the forum.

Thanks again for taking the time! I’ve also lost MANY hairs over the weekend. I too noticed that Game Boost got a significant update around this time so this all makes sense now. But I wasn’t cognizant enough to put that together.

It works! Thank you GxMech7350! I don’t know how to set the solution to this thread, but you hit the nail on the head.

You’re the man!

There is a ton of my hair on the floor from this one! Worked on it all weekend. Very frustrating for sure! Glad to be able to share the solution! Enjoy!

We definitely had the exact same issue - if I started up, logged in quick, and ran the sim it works.

I’m sure many other people will see this thread who have Razer peripherals.

Hey guys thank you so much, i was had the same issue and Razer Cortex caussing this issue. Thanks, now i can fly again.

Turn off all boosting/Overclocking features on Bios, such as XMP.

FS2020 is the ONLY program that crashes even I just turn on the weakest XMP ram boosting!!!

XMP works fine for me. This was a problem very unrelated to that.

I’m getting this crash as well all of a sudden. No lasso, no nahil whatever, and no realtek drivers. No razor anything. PC version. Checked all sound drivers are up to date.

Any ideas here?

Same here… I don’t have any of the above mentioned apps on my system. I haven’t even tried MSFS (Steam ver) for months. It was working fine last time around. Now all it does is crash to desktop.
