X box or not X box?

Hi guys…hope everybody is fine…
since all the problems lately on my side like lack of psu, internet issues (solved), and all the ctds and all the rest, and before spending money on my comp for a new psu, fans, etc…do you think it would be a good idea to forget the sim on the pc, and get it on a X box, and on my monitor WHQD ?
i would go (because low budget ) for a x box S (like 300 eruos), wired with a rj45 cat 7 to my box, my internet cabled 400 mbps…so coz i m new in all that ..is it possible ? what kinda of other stuff would i need ? the mouse i guess will not work anymore…just wondering how evrything would go…i do my research, but i need your so appreciated and precious advice…thanks in advance

Flight Simulator on XBox (S and X) supports fully Mouse and Keyboard.

cool, good to know, i guess my thrusmaster hotas joystick as well ?

But doesn’t support:

Community mods (yet).
A large range of addon hardware like flight computers, autopilots, yokes (except two), or joysticks.
Navigraph NAV data.

Existing Honeycomb Alpha yokes won’t work with the Xbox, though I think I read that future builds would work with both PC, and Xbox. Wasn’t there also supposed to be some USB adapter hub which would allow the connection of non-natively compatible controllers? It won’t help for the the other devices as they usually require external tools like SPAD, or FSUIPC to configure them, which also can’t be used on The Xbox.

i m having the thrustmaster T flight hotas one, i read it s compatible with x box s …you confirm ? according to the website you linked…i

Once that mod is put back onto the Marketplace, I expect so. But not currently as they only offer the dev. build if I remember right, and that’s a Community mod. You could access Simbrief, but I’m not sure about how to import that. I’ve never used the FBW addons, but if that’s an integral feature of them, to link to a Simbrief account then perhaps you can.

The box art I’ve found for the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One has the Xbox logo on it. Does yours?

No, you have to buy the Hotas for Xbox - the Hotas for PC will not work on Xbox

Fwiw, ctds are pretty rampant on Xbox at the moment. Mostly Series X ironically, particularly during long haul flights. If those aren’t your jam, they aren’t too bad but still happen at busy airports.

This is really a pain at the moment with good Mods on the internal Xbox Marketplace.

All of the good mod company has delivered their mods to Asobo / Microsoft - but they dont approved them fast enough.

FBW 320 was pulled from Xbox almost immediately after launch due to bugs, and they haven’t confirmed (that I’ve seen) when it’ll come back. The livery is still there though lol

As for the 737, the only one on Xbox was just released the other day on this side, 737 MAX by Bredok. I know a lot of you PC guys aren’t a fan of that one but it’s all we got at the moment.

The only content available Xbox, now and forever, is through the in-sim marketplace unfortunately. All of it has to be officially licensed from the trademark property owners due to it being Microsoft’s public facing storefront.

so,as a little summary, flight sim, either on pc, or x box has its pros and cons…
what to do now ? (sighssssssssss)
i would just go for the x box just to avoid all this comp problems and issues, and at least try new games offered on the x box game pass…

In general the sim runs very well on Xbox if you can deal with typical bugs that are being smoothed over and the limited third party content.

and all teh future updates will be then available on the x box then too, like SU5, any better performance for the xbox guys…same bugs as on the comp ? like ?

Draw distances on the Xbox Series S are very poor in my opinion. It looks wonderful on Series X but I think you would be disappointed with the visuals on Series S, especially around cities. Be very sure you check that out thoroughly before committing. A lot of compromises needed to be made to get it to work well on Series S.

All updates are pushed at the same time as for PC, yes.

Not all bugs will be the same, but some will persist across both platforms. Just don’t expect zero ctds ever on Xbox lol
