X-touch mini + Touch Portal + TM TCA Captain Pack

Hi guys!
Lately I have been trying to improve my home cockpit with more direct controls.
I only had before a TM16K, but it was pretty uncomfortable.
Then I got the TM TCA captain pack, and it improve the experience a lot. However, obviously I still had the issue with the buttons for lights, mcdu, fcu, and everything else.
Thought initially about getting a streamdeck xl, but it is a bit expensive. As an alternative, I got Touch portal, that is more accessible. I am using a template with a few button that I downloaded, but the functionality is not very large.
Finally, I found about x-touch mini and the possibility to use it for the rotary encoders for the autopilot.
I also have two 10" tablets, one for touch portal, and the other one to use as a secondary screen to move screens with spacedesk.
Then, my question is, how could I make all of these devices work together and make the best use?
Is Axis and Ohs a must in order to make it work?
What functions would you put in each one of the devices?
Thanks!

A little update!
I received the x-touch mini finally, and tried to configure it using a free addon called X-Touch-Mini-FS2020.
In the beginning, they were working only half of the rotary encoders, and few buttons.
I had to research several forums to find how to modify the configuration files in order for the addon to sort out the correct actions. It was pretty bothersome!
Anyone knows if using AAO’s is easier to configure, especially if you want to configure it for different planes?
Cheers!

Love my Xtouch… for a while i only had layer A set up but last night set up layer B with the 6 G1000 buttons (DirectTo, FPL, PROC etc) and the FMS knob to get more complete control. Its not too hard using the Mobiflight event module, there is a event.txt file in there to help you find what you’re looking for. I mostly fly GA planes and dont even bother with the multiple config files for different planes, as most of the autopilot stuff is the same, except for map zoom. So i just have it spam multiple events on that knob and whichever one it hears, works.

Thanks for your response, smitty9792.
Do you mind telling me how do you connect your x-touch to the sim, please? Are you using AAO’s? X-touch-mini-fs2020? Or I even heard about spad.next… which one should be better to use for easy configuration?

I use the xtouch-mini-fs2020 tool, i have not used AAO or spad.next so cant comment on how easy those are. But the xtouch-fs2020 is all text config files. If i were to make my own button panels i would probably check those out but since the xtouch is a weird midi device, the fs2020 tool does a great job with it.

Then you are using it like me at the moment.
Don’t you find unintuitive making the changes manually?
In my case, I struggle looking for the right event or variable. Also, it would be really helpful if the developer of the tool shared some instructions or tutorial about how to configure the text files… things like the type of events or so…
And speaking about that… how do you handle the illumination of the xtouch? Is it possible to switch on or off the light of a button depending on the status of the function in the sim? Or the lights in the rotary encoders?
