Has anyone figured out how to make the “mode switch” work in FS2020? Is there an addon or an updated driver or something that makes it work?
Or is it just a wasted switch on my stick as far as this sim is concerned?
If you’re talking about the circle switch on the top right of the stick, I mapped it to toggle cockpit, external, and showcase.
Open up your controller’s configuration, find what you want to map it to, then here is what I had to do:
If mapping mode 1, start “listening” in mode 2, flip it to mode 1, then flip it back to mode 2. Finish by validating. You will now have mapped mode 1.
For mode 2, start on 1, start listening, flip to 2, then back to 1, validate.
Rinse and repeat for each mode.
When I do that, the bindings don’t change.
Like, I’ll bind the trigger to mode 1 brakes, then switch to mode two and try to bind the trigger to smartview… and it warns me it’s already bound to brakes
Ah, I understand what you are trying to do now. I think the mode switch is just another mappable button in MSFS. I’m not sure there is a way to make it actually toggle different modes for the other buttons, ie trigger does x in mode 1, but does y in mode 2. To make it do that, there would need to be a way for it to change the controller device profile in-flight.
Did anyone already made the mode switch work in order to toggle different modes for the buttons of the joystick?
