I bought the A320 NEO Europe Liveries, and it worked fine only the first time I used it : both my plane and the other in the sky or in airports were showing the liveries (companies logos).
So I then bought the A320 NEO North America Liveries, but I have a problem : I can choose a specific livery for my own plane, but no planes in the sky (New York) or airport (JFK) are showing the liveries (no companies logos, only the default plane textures on A320 NEO planes).
Does anyone know why ?

Yes exactly, for the north america A320 NEO Liveries, they are not showing on the AI traffic planes.
It’s really really weird. Now even with the european A320 NEO liveries, they are not showing anymore on the AI traffic planes … Anyone else had this problem ? Anyone else here bought these liveries on Xbox ?
I tried with the live online AI traffic planes (not live), then for the european airport all AI planes are using the ITA company logo, and for the North American airport (JFK) all AI planes are using the Turkish Airlines logo … !!!
So there is definitely an issue with the 4simmers liveries.
It’s unclear, to me, if the sim is aware enough to know what liveries are meant to be utilized regionally.
I’ve got a fair number of the various livery packs and it seems like the selection of liveries placed on static aircraft is randomly selected from all available liveries.
If someone knows otherwise, it would be great to hear how it is “supposed” to work.
However, to answer your original question, I’ve seen it go both ways — custom liveries and default liveries applied to various static aircraft.
What I have not seen, is custom liveries applied to traffic aircraft. I only use Real-time Online Traffic, but I’m fairly certain, I’ve only seen those planes utilizing default sim liveries.
Thanks a lot for your answer. As it worked fine the very first time I tried the A320 Neo European liveries, then did not work anymore, I guess there is a real issue with these liveries.
As I am on Xbox, I wonder if I need to be connected to Xbox Live Gold to get these liveries working better (I currently only use Xbox Live basic, which does allow the real time online traffic, but … who knows …).
I sent an email to 4simmers but no answers for now.
I am now using Xbox live gold, but it’s not better : the real time online traffic (or other players traffic) does not use the custom liveries I bought from 4Simmers, and I feel bad about this as in the Flight Simulator store, 4Simmers do advertise their liveries as traffic compatible …
I can only see custom liveries on some airplanes parked in the airports (never in the sky). But the way the liveries are applied is stupid : for each airport, ALL planes have the same livery ! All planes are showing the same company logo.
So the only interest of these liveries, is for your own plane, which I don’t care !
