Does the xbox controller use the PC’s use the wireless or bluetooth connection?
Do i need to hit the small “connection start” button to get the PC to recognize it?

I use bluetooth to connect my controller to my pc. I open bluetooth and do ‘add a bluetooth device’ and push the button in the picture to start the connection process. My controller can use bluetooth. Some xbox controllers use a wireless adapter, so not sure how they connect.
I connect mine with a USB cable with the small end into the controller, it also has Bluetooth, but I prefer the cable connection, which also provide power if your batteries fail. I also have to hit the X button to start it, if you forgot and you are in the sim, is OK, the sim will recognize it .
