Is anyone having difficulty with using an xbox controller? Mine is connected via USB and the sim doesn’t recognise it. It’s definitely working as it’s fine out of the sim.
I only use controller and mines’s been fine. You are talking about the standard official Xbox controller right and not a 3rd Party wired?
Try connect a mouse and reset to default settings in controls option.

Try to pair them again, if that doesn’t work to fix it, check your accessories for the controller for updates. For some reason I don’t always get prompted to update the controller when one’s available, checking in every once in awhile can have one ready. Otherwise unplugging/plugging in the USB while in sim should rectify it. I have a chatpad I use in sim that acts up and doesn’t work every now and again. I sometimes have to unplug and plug the USB transmitter back in and it rights itself. There seems to be some issues with recognising peripherals.
I have the same issue with my Logitech X52 Pro HOTAS. After Update it will not recognized anymore in the game. I have a steam deluxe version. Deintalled and reinstalled MSFS, Steam, Treiber for Logitech - nothing helps. I think it’s the same think what you have, because it’s also USB Device. X52 Hotas is no longer displayed in the game. It suddenly happened from one day to the next. No changes were made to the system. There are no additional mods installed. I hope it will be fixed ASAP
Use it all the time with fs. xbox series x/s controller, all fine here. I suggest updating the firmware with the xbox accessories app. You will find it in the windows store.
