It would be nice if we could use fs-radio panel, sim dashboard etc with xbox. Sim dashboard already works with alot of racing sims on xbox so it’s not a restraint of Microsoft or xbox. I’ve read that it’s because xbox is a closed system but obviously not if it already works with other titles. Does anyone know why it’s not already implemented?
I’ve been sitting here wondering the exact same thing, why cant they simply implement an Ip server, like, I highly doubt that it could be a future exploit, or maybe is will ne and that’s why is not implemented yet. but that is a VERY good idea, I use sim dashboard for farming sim and it works amazing, shows everything, and same for f1, project cars, and so many others
Just had another thought… The volocity one flight yoke is an external device and the sip panel indicators work in the sim fine ie low fuel, alt warning, master warning, master caution, cht, egt etc etc which can only work if it is receiving some sort of data from the sim . So if that can read sim data how is it that nothing else can?
I don’t Any external connection is a security risk.
The volocity one flight yoke is an external connection?
Or are you on about a connection through an ip address? And come to think of it with that working how is it that the logitech panels can’t work the same for the xbox?
Any network connection, yes. A peripheral is not an external connection in the sense someone can’t send random data to that connection.
So do you think it’s more likely that something like the logitech panels are more realistic than an android /apple app? But then in that case how or why are those apps already working on other games/sims on xbox? Sim dashboard already supports msfs but only on pc.
Note there’s no inherent limitation on the Xbox game console platform that prevents this. Last I checked, Fallout 4 for Xbox works fine with the Pip-Boy iPad app (assuming it still runs on modern iPads!)
However, Microsoft or Asobo may be imposing their own chosen limits on Microsoft Flight Simulator, in which case there’s nothing to be done about it from our end as mere users.
Hmmm so it could be a case of Microsoft /Asobo just not wanting xbox users to have it?
I’ve got a Logitech radio panel for my PC, but it doesn’t work straight out of the box and needs a third party driver to operate correctly.
That will be why they don’t work with xbox then
Wonder if logitech will make an xbox compatible version?
I prefer if they just released an xbox app to make the current version work as I also have an xbox
Yeah just like the turtle beach app on xbox
They’d probably release a new version anyway, just to force people like me buy twice
Just as I’m a bit peeved I can’t use my original Honeycomb Alpha on the xbox and had to buy an additional Thrustmaster HOTAS One…
It can get expensive can’t it
This would be awesome, Forza Horizon 5 supports it on the xbox and it works great.
Previous versions of Flight Simulator on PC work as well.
Very true. we shall see, I thought they were trying to make the console an important thing for flight sim, like eventually have a console that solely runs flight sim. that would be cool, but only if it is at a price point that is lower than the adequate pc hardware and peripherals needed to run at relatively the same performance and quality as a pc
