I like to keep my installation tidy and usually remove items I don’t use like big airliners or liveries for airplanes I don’t even own like 787, Baron etc.
Now I find a bunch of XBOX-themed liveries in my installation (total 1.32Gb) and they simply can’t be deleted.
I remove them from the content manager, game freezes and I have to kill the task and, at next game startup, they will be installed again, like forcing them down my throat.
WHY? What is the point?
Is there a way to remove them permanently?
I have deleted them one by one, that worked for me. I also deleted a bunch of other liveries and aircraft I don’t want. Take a few at a time and wait for the sim to become responsive. Hope it works out.
I was forced to re-download at the next game startup through the “checking updates”.
Is this not the case for you?
Are they actually Xbox themed? Only one I looked at was the random blue 172.
Oh, yes. I’ve done it five or six times and every time a different size update. I dunno, I’m winging it at this point. Now at least I’m not force fed the updates…probably jinxed it …
I don’t see any Xbox branding. Looks like a green version of the “aviators club” liveries they already had.
If you don’t like em that’s fine but calling them “Xbox themed” seems like a version of this fun new trend to blame everything from SU5 on the console bogeyman.
I like “console bogeyman”, nice definition.
will use it for sure, thanks.
All those liveries are officially called -xbox-aviators, check the official packages folder. They are a green version of the ‘standard’ blue aviator that the PC got some time ago.
Now I’m off to test the update (finally), hope you’re all getting good fun out of this (PC and XboX).
Microsoft! I do not want xbox liveries! Thats why I bought a PC! Stop forcing me to download them!
Good lord I wonder who makes these decisions inside Microsoft/Asobo…
I managed to remove them from the content manager yesterday, not sure if it is related to the latest friday update.
however they are gone for good.
I don’t know, maybe it’s because they were added in time for the xbox launch and actually named things like “xbox aviators club” in content manager. Seems as if it’s appropriate to call them xbox liveries but that’s just me.
