The patch is the one I’m testing now which is mainly weather related not out yet . Yes it was very stable in sim update 6 .
Good report UKLL-HECA 02:46 h, with the 777-300ER I can fly without problems no ctd or black avionics. With all other aircraft black avionics or ctd.
Same good report here of a flight just now, same plane 777-300ER EGLL-LGAV London to Athens about 03:30 hrs gate to gate. I turned off Live weather (because of bugs) but had Live ATC. no black Avionics at all. However, only time I got a CTD was right after the flight was done at the gate I used the Drone camera just to go look around Athens city and then Bam. CTD. smh. but at least the flight itself was smooth. really hope this upcoming SU7 update fix will actually fix these random CTDs
Bit confused as my S had huge problems but since Reno expansion and update seems to be working ok now and I’ve got loads of airports/planes/liveries add-ons.
Recently managed to bag an X so the S will go to the kids. But nice to know the fix is coming.
I don’t understand why it works ok on some and not on others. Never get CTD or black screens but used to suffer with both. made no changes to loaded games etc. Surely the s/w builds must be consistent.
Wonder if spare memory makes a difference. I run it off the Seagate expansion and have lots room left on actual console.
You know what, you make a really good point actually. The devs in the q&As were saying the CTDs are caused by memory leaks I remember. So I use xbox series x and im at 86 percent storage on my console. I do wonder if the Seagate expansion 1TB card will solve this constant CTD problem with my addons as well. so there will be more room. Did you start using the expansion card after SU7? also are you using a hotas joy stick, live weather, rolling cache, long haul flying with airliners? thanks for this info
Does anyone know when SU8 is?
It’s February, I think.
I got the card around the same time. It’s surely a coincidence. Maybe though spare memory plays a part. My console (S) has more than half left, as does the Seagate card. Not set-up the X yet.
I sim the stock A320 around UK/Europe maxing 2-3 hours and use live traffic, live weather and flight plan from the MS flight planning screen rather than the planes own FMS.
In flight I’m changing views constantly but obviously take off land from cockpit view.
I just use Xbox controller for now.
Fly every day or so and had no CTD or Black Screens since. I assumed It was fixed.
It was a big issue for me before that. Was having black screens and occasional CTD.
Only issue I see now is on the first Landing Challenge my score isn’t being updated logged. The first score I ever tried - appears no matter how many times I scored higher. Lol.
It’s unlikely to be anything to do with the expansion card. ‘Memory leak’ does not refer to the size of the SSD. It’s referring to the RAM of the console.
Exactly. I got 1tb ssd at Black Friday. Same problem
The RAM isn’t related to the storage memory.
However my issue stopped around the time I moved the game to the expansion.
Hence I stated it.
From severe issue of black screen and occasional CTD to none.
Strange nonetheless. Doesn’t make sense how consoles can be built differently. They’re not PC
Everyone waiting for the next SU, i have a few bad news. I know that beta is not the final result for release and is subject to changes. I have been testing it for a week or so, almost all the time i had some crashes or black screen issues when descending or in cruise, some CTD as well while in cruise. I just switched back to RTM version and as expected, all is running great, already completed long flights into payware airports with no issues. I hope they fix all of that and test the sim before releasing it to everyone because if the current issues in the beta still not fixed when they release it to public, the sim will be unplayable unfortunately.
That’s a shame .. I’ll be crying soon
I’m glad your issue stopped but we have thoroughly tested every single thing you can think of and it is a memory leak not a storage system leak . I have read and responded to over one thousand people here and have tested every single method you can think of on both Xbox’s and Pc and I’m going to say it again , it’s not a seagate storage card placement. Only reports here is what the developers want to see . Not speculating, theories, etc. They know what the issue is .

Well, your flights are short. Try 5 more hours. For example larger airports. On short flights I often don’t have a ctd or black avionics ..
I’ve been having some serious issues lately. I crashed 3 times last night just starting the plane and setting up the MCDU. The 2nd time it crashed I literally just turned the APU on and it crashed to desktop.
I mainly bought the series X for this game and I’m gutted it is unplayable right now. Also I spent £65 on this game and for that price it should not be this bad. I understand it is new on console but they should not be charging this price for a broken game.
Not a long haul simmer - but I was having black screens and CTD on even short hops before the last update.
That would explain why experienced it resolved.
I’ll try a 5 plus hour and see what happens.
Most players fly short flights on the console. I cannot confirm with Seagate.
I always did do shorter hops. I enjoy the setting up, departure and arrival phases.
Obviously on a flight SIM lots of users do different things and some may never notice the issue here.
The eye candy flying external as GA is amazing, but you’d rarely, if ever notice this bug.
I’ll for sanity do a long haul or two to recreate bug again, must be present on my S just not manifesting due to shorter flights.
Credit to Jack amongst many that tirelessly pursued the bug here. Sounds like Developer’s are on it.
Hope it gets put to bed permanently for all users.
