The only option you have at the moment is to buy the Thrustmaster T.Flight Full Kit X.
You can buy the pedals separately but they won’t work on the Xbox without the joystick too. If you search ‘how to use rudder pedals with velocity one xbox’ on YouTube theres a guy that covers it. Sorry can’t link.
Sucks. I was about to buy the velocity one but really want to use rudder pedals too think I’m just going to hold off until honeycomb or turtle beach release something.
I don’t think you can connect a Thrustmaster pedals with a VelocityOne.
Writing “Xbox” on the box is only a commercial argument, but it does not guarantee that the device will work correctly .
What you need to know is that, on XBOX Series, the “rudder” is not seen as an independant device, but more like an extension of another device.
I own a T. Flight One and a TFRP (Thrustmaster Flight Rudder Pedals).
The TFRP can be connected two ways: either to the rear of the Flight One, using a specific connector, either to an USB port, using a provided adapter.
When used alone, the Flight One show 5 axis in the MSFS options/controls.
When connected to the rear plug of the Flight One, the TFRP is not showed as a new device, but considered as integrated part of the Flight One. MSFS still show only one device, and now, the Flight One show 7 axis in the MSFS options/controls.
When connected to an USB port on the Xbox, the TFRP is no recognized. If the Flight One is connected to another USB port, it show only 5 axis. When connected alone, the TFRP is not displayed in the MSFS options/controls.
Note that, my USB adapter for the TFRP works fine: when connected to a PC, the TFRP is well recognized and works alone (the calibration tools from Thrustmaster show perfectly the two axis).
This mean that, on Xbox, the TFRP device cannot be used with another joystick that the ones made by Thrustmaster. You cannot use a TFRP in combination with a VelocityOne, on an Xbox, because the rudder/pedals is not recognized as an independant device.
I’ve seen people work around this by using the pedals with the T.Flight Hotas One as usual. You then just connect any other peripherals like the VelocityOne at the same time and use them together.
Just put the Hotas aside and don’t use it, it acts as an adapter for the pedals only in this case.
I think you don’t even need to unbind any controls on the Hotas you don’t use, but it might help to avoid input conflicts with other peripherals.
I haven’t tested this configuration yet, but I can confirm that the pedals work fine when connected to the Hotas One.
PS: Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One is the Xbox compatible Version, works great on Series X. Don’t confuse this with the Hotas X, which is the Playstation compatible version of the same device. I don’t know why Thrustmaster calls the set that includes the Hotas One and Pedals “Full Kit X”… confusing.
Thanks guys. To be honest, I expected to hit snags with an XBox, but until the PC prices crash, I’m sticking with it.
The T-Flight HOTAS and pedals sounds useful, I’ll have to watch the YT videos to get a grip on this.
Hopefully, someone makes some stand-alone pedals to avoid conflicts.
The only other problem I’ve had with the TB V1F was if I paused it and came back to the sim the controls wouldn’t work any more. I fixed that by making a new config from the single engine prop one and removing the extra controls from the throttle, prop and mixture. Now it’s fine.
For some reason they put the levers and the push controls on the same axes which was causing the issue. MSFS read the first one it found and then got confused.
I asked TB on their Discord and they pointed me to a picture of their “XBox Dev Test Rig” and suggested it might hold an Easter Egg, or an answer to my question about prdals.
Their rep said to expect an announcement possible early Q2.
Hopefully they’ll make them work through the current yoke somehow.
Hello,
Does anyone know if the T.Flicht Ruddr Pedals will work together with the Velocity One from Turtle Beach on the XBOX S? I lile to use both but can’t get it working right now.
sorry to bring this up again. I’ve been researching for hours trying to find out if the Thrustmaster Flight Rudder Pedals would work with Thrustmaster TCA Yoke Pack Boeing Edition on the Xbox series X. Does anyone have any experience?
It’s creasy but it seems as if at the moment the only possibility to connect any rudder pedal to an Xbox at all is the T.Flight Hotas One set… if that is true than that’s pretty pathetic… Or is there any other way (expect for the „workaround“ mentioned above)?
Interesting thread but I have a twist to add to the rudder pedal situation. I have the Turtle Beach Velocity One Rudder pedals. They installed easily and setting them up on my various profiles on my XBox S went fine. They registered the expected “Joystick L - Axis 32”, “Joystick L - Axis 13”, and “Joystick L - Axis 14” for the Rudder Axis, Left Brake and Right Brake respectively. Validated and tested then csaved the profile.
When attempting to use them in flight, the XBox did not recognize the brake input. When I went into the configuration screen and searched for input, pressing the brakes came up with “Joystick L - Axis 2+” for both of them. Attempting to reconfigure the pedals and it would not recognize the input as the Axis 13/14 for the brakes.
Anyone have a similar problem or any ideas on what to try?
I eventually updated the firmware for the rudder pedals and flight yoke. I lost some of the settings (reverted back to the default controller) but was able to reconfigure the pedals and they are now working fine on all profiles. Very irksome and tedious but it worked. Hope this helps.
