XBOX Series X - Adding Waypoints to Flight Plan?

Is it possible in FS to add a waypoint to a flight plan? My main field is Booker (EGTB) and head off to Blackbushe (EGLK) but would like to add another field in between before going to Blackbushe. I know you could do this in FSX, but lost on FS 2020

Or do more like on the PC version the STAR look on the CTD like a STAR in xbox to pls

To do it pre-flight, while still in the World Map, choose your Departure Airport and then choose your Arrival airport. Once those are chosen you can click on anything and you will have the ADD option in the little drop down list it creates. It adds it in between the Departure and Arrival points. If you add an additional point it places it after the one you just created and before the arrival point. You can add as many as you like this way. Check out SimHangar’s video on YouTube for more info.

EDIT: I just remembered another little tip. You can search for a location in Bing Maps, get the latitude and longitude coordinates, and type those into the SEARCH bar. It will convert the coordinates to a slightly different format, but whatever it comes up with should be the same spot you found on Bing. The reason I suggest Bing Maps is that it gives you a Lat and Long that is easier to type into the SEARCH bar.

Here is an example: This is the coordinates (40.522419, -112.152840) for the Bingham Canyon Mine in Utah, aka the Kennecott Copper Mine. It is the largest man made excavation. It is not listed as a landmark in the game but it is represented very accurately in the game.

Put in U42 for the Departure airport and KSLC for the Arrival airport. Then put 40.522419, -112.152840 in the SEARCH bar and choose the modified coordinates it gives you then click the little waypoint logo it zooms you to and choose ADD. Now fly something like an XCub, NXCub, or your choice of low and slow airplane. Icon A5 would be good too. You can land on the Great Salt Lake.

Thanks for that. I was doing the same as per Simhangers video but when I put cursor over the ADD section nothing was added thats why I was getting abit lost.

I think SU9 may have (partially?) broken this functionality. I’ve seen several new mentions of it over the last day - try the search. Also it didn’t work for me the last time I tried to edit the flight plan. It certainly used to work before.

One tip is to use the map filters and turn on NAV points etc, as you can add these as well, often easier than using a lat-long.

I haven’t used it since the update. I will test it later to see if it is functioning properly for me. Previously I had problems using the cursor with the controller. I’d get it on the ADD button but when I tried to click it, the waypoint wouldn’t be added. Once I started using a USB mouse I’ve had success every time I’ve attempted to add a waypoint.

Cant even use a mouse

Is it possible to change the altitude of the waypoints?

Once you have a flight plan created (at least the Departure and Arrival points chosen) you will see a button near the top right of the World Map screen labeled `NAV LOG’. You can adjust the altitude for the flight plan there. However I don’t know of any way to adjust each individual dot in the NAV LOG window. It seems to be locked to the Altitude you input.

I tested it. It appears to be working for me, but I haven’t suffered any of the game breaking effects of this update. I have had a couple of CTDs before the update, but none since. So far. Your Mileage May Vary.

Thank you. It works! Yeh no way to adjust the altitude of each waypoint individually.
