A week in review has me unsatisfyingly satisfied.
The potential of this title is madness. However I struggle to maintain my patience as i have to get up for the third time in a session to resync my keyboard because I decided to try a different game mode, or take a walk around an A400
(we know the series s wont let me fly that yet), or have a play with the replay mode, once, and then have functionality issues prompting a reboot.
I play at the bottom of the barrel.
I have an Xbox S, I know what my expectations are, however simple functionality and some form of quality assurance testing should be priority surely and not too much to ask in this day and age.
Sever issues at launch aside, third party implementation aside, is the game working?.. Probably, I can never be sure when i turn it on.
I wasnt ready for such a love hate relationship.
The career mode has so much potential but i feel its relience on the automated generation of missions is flawed as much as it is brilliant.
Ive lost so much rep because of bugs in pilot performance criteria.
Crossing runways i cant call permission for.
Landing lights on and the sim tell me they are off. Passengers complaining of a bumpy ride while filming a Tornado.

Specialisation missions simply not loading blocking my progress.
Unable to land near rescue targets because there is nowhere to land, or the target dissipears after the context screen dissapears.
Sound and textures missing, controls reverting to msfs default on every aircraft, regardless of my custom default settings, or in flight just because it feels like it. Replay mode only works once then you have to reboot to use it again
No hope of flying anything bigger that a caravan.
Its annoying, its dissapointing, and after gaming for the best part of thirty years i find it a little insulting that top tier companies keep releasing their games in this state, not just MSFS but nearly all new releases are screwy to start and using the release date as their first official play test, essentially making us simmers all realtime beta testers.
However the scope of what the devs are trying to achieve with this title is mind bending.. I still remember playing Alex the Kid on the Master System.
Give it time and it will be glorious, unfortunately I fear not on the consoles. They just dont have the capacity. The fact it runs aswell as it does is actually witchcraft.
I will persevere with my career as my companies are making money, and i do enjoy the added purpose and jeapordy in the missions, but would love to experience that in a more complete and coherent state (without the hilariously bad voices that you cant turn off without turning off ATC) where i can be sure it was me that cocked up and not the sim having a brain ■■■■.
Turbulence ahead fellow simmers but I know there is promise over the horizon.
