When I first purchased the 737 XBOX s I had Black Screen 95% at my purchased airfields (UK) - EHAM would cause black screen on touchdown. I upgraded to a XBOX X but still had black screen at EHAM.
After turning off the co-pilot screens and hiding the two pilot / copilot seats I can manage to land and taxi to gate as long as I don’t exit the cockpit or look around too much. if this helps.
The ATR used to black screen most of the time for me when first purchased but now after updates seem to run very will - I still turn off screens I don’t need so maybe there is still room in the 737 for memory improvements. The ability to turn screens off or hide heavy objects seems to be the best answer for xbox users IMOP.
I have 6 aircraft that I have purchased from MP that do black screen ( far less on Xbox X ).
The HondaJet goes black very quickly on Xbox X ( instant on S ) maybe only having one screen active would help here.
Can anybody with the liveries confirm whether or not the stability is worse with a livery applied? Has anybody consistently experienced black avionics or CTDs at an airport that isn’t an issue without liveries?
My ISP has had an outage due to weather since right after the marketplace update, which has been surprisingly fortuitous for me. It’s forced me to slow down and consider whether or not I even want to buy these liveries, rather than jumping all over them since I’m starved for something other than this default PMDG livery.
Very strange! I’ve literally just completed a couple of circuits at STN in the 737, mostly in cockpit view but using the external cam too, without any issues.
Can you guys having problems confirm whether or not you’re using the new liveries?

Spent the last few minutes repeatedly spawning at STN and on the last one just now it did CTD while loading. But I’d been flying around for a good while without restarting the sim. One CTD in maybe 7-8 spawnings now (plus a black screen last night which didn’t result in a CTD). No issues yet encountered on landing.
You’re not the first, from what I’m reading. Looking like the liveries are tipping what is already a temperamental plane over the edge. I was hesitant to buy a livery pack on principle but even less inclined to do so now.
Count me in the “unusual spike in black screens” camp. This NEVER plagued me until very recently, right around AAU2 I would say. Series X. I read over and over again how people would have black avionics (mostly Series S people, I think?) and would think to myself how happy I was to have never encountered that; now it’s quite often, and in many different aircraft.
Just did I EGPH (Pyreegue) to EGSS (Inibuilds) and the flight was okay and got black screens after shutting the engines at the gate and was using the 800 with Ryanair livery on Series X with live weather and live ai traffic.
I’ve been flying the EZY 23N between STN and EDI (real-world route) a lot this past 24 hours, with live weather, and I’ve yet to have a CTD. Granted, I’ve been very careful, restricting how often I use the external cam in close proximity to STN, however I can’t help but feel there’s more to the CTDs some are suffering. I’m not entirely convinced the livery packs aren’t compounding the issue but I wonder whether some of you have a lot of third-party scenery installed in that area? STN’s quite a way out of London but I’ve only the Asobo LHR and Orbx London city pack — no LTN, no LCY, no SEN, no Farnborough, no Biggin, no Oxford…
I do have Burning Blue Popham and Rochester but they’re almost certainly far enough away as to be of no consequence.
Has anybody tried KBOS add-on on XBOX x with PMDG 737 I wonder? Tempted to get it on sale but would like to know if it is usable… Yesterday I got LEBL and was able to have a successful flight with 737=800 and Ryanair livery, Live traffic, live weather, from LFMN-LEBL with only a slight stutter when taxing in but nothing as far as Black Screen and CTDs. I usually do shortish flights up to 2 hours max though ( I speed up x 2 once I am at cruise altitude not to waste too much time! ). Cheers
