[Xbox Workaround] Volanta Toolbar Window Resize & Linking Fix

Platform: Xbox Series X

Add-on: Orbx Volanta (Marketplace)

Sim Version: SU5 (May 2026)

I wanted to share a workflow for anyone struggling to get the new Orbx Volanta linked on Xbox. A lot of us have been stuck with a tiny toolbar window that won’t resize, making it impossible to see the unique connection code.

Disclaimer: This is what worked for me after some trial and error—others have tried similar steps with mixed results, so it might not be a “one-size-fits-all” fix, but it’s worth a shot.

  1. Toggle Installation: If you are currently “streaming” the add-on, go to your Library and Install it locally.

  2. Hard Reset: Shut down the Xbox and physically unplug it from the wall for 60 seconds to clear the hardware cache.

  3. Toggle Back: Once you’re back in, switch Volanta from “Installed” back to “Stream.”

  4. Reset Rolling Cache: This is an extra step that may help if the UI is still acting up. Go to Data settings and delete/reset your Rolling Cache to ensure no old SU5 data is causing conflicts.

  5. The Mouse Trick: Load into a flight at a generic airport (to save VRAM). Open the Volanta window and immediately drag it to the left side of the screen using a mouse. Once it’s moved, the resize handle seems to “unlock,” allowing you to pull it open and see your linking code.

Once it’s up and running, Volanta is seriously impressive. It adds a ton of functionality that we’ve been missing on console. Hopefully, this is just the start—an integrated ACARS system would be the dream next step!

Huge thanks to the Orbx/Volanta Discord for the help; they were on top of these bugs right away.

I’d tried 1 2 and 3 above with no success.

What worked for me was starting a session with it set to streaming and then simply disabling then enabling again and then starting a flight. I could finally enlarge the window.

YMMV

Glad that worked :flexed_biceps:

me too, at this point, i went to the xbox menu options on xbox manage data and clear the reserved space

Tried the above. Not working here. Annoying as Xbox users have to pay for what is a free tool on PC.

I’m not sure if this:

really fixed it or whether I just randomly finally was able to enlarge the window but once I could it’s opened fully since then.

If none of the fixes have worked for you it’s probably worth just trying to resize the window on every session for a while. The window didn’t look any different until I tried dragging it bigger with the mouse.

Good luck

Have the same issues, also I can’t use the app says I need premium and is locked terrible product!.

That worked for me!
