Xbox X - Can I buy a curved monitor?

Dear Members, I have an Xbox X, with the help of the many kind souls here, I now have everything setup.. well, cough, excluding the monitor  I used a projector to do the initial setup, while I sat twiddling my thumbs on which monitor to buy.

I have read somewhere that Xbox X does not support curved monitors. Is this correct? I was hoping to get a 49 inch curved monitor, if it does.

If not supported, then the answer would help me reach a conclusion to get a flat monitor.

Information on the above will be much appreciated. Thank you :folded_hands:

I don’t see why it wouldn’t support a curved monitor per se. Maybe it doesn’t support the resolutions that curved monitors tend to come in but that’s a different question.

I have no idea how legit this website is but it has curved monitors in its list of best monitors for Xbox Series X. The 4 Best Monitors For Xbox Series X of 2025 - RTINGS.com

Gentlemen and Ladies,

I have an Xbox X.

I have to decide and pay tomorrow. All the 49 inch curved monitors in my location only have HDMI 2.0. Only one 28 inch monitor has HDMI 2.1 (in my location).

Could someone help advice if I should select the 49 inch 2.0 HDMI curved monitor or get the 28 inch 2.1 HDMI flat monitor?

Please do help if you have used or have knowledge of the different monitors.

If your primary use of the Xbox is going to be MSFS, then the refresh rate of the display isn’t going to be as big of a concern since this isn’t game that requires/benefits from high refresh rates or high FPS in the same way as, say, a first person shooter does.

I’m using a 28” 60 Hz 4K display for my Xbox, which I only use for the sim. My other Xbox for gaming is connected to my 120 Hz 4K TV.

You need to ask yourself if the feature sets of those curved displays are satisfactory to your needs. I’m assuming the 2.0 displays are 60 Hz (or 50 Hz) but are they 4K? Do you want 4K?

Maybe post the specs of the displays here, so we can further help you parse through it.

Thank you @NixonRedgrave. Yes, will use the Xbox only for MSFS. Understood now on the specs required, that helped clear a very important issue, that the higher refresh rates are more important only for the fast moving games, now understand. I can save a ton of money if I buy a 60 Hz and a HDMI 2.0 instead of the higher specs. Once I shortlist one from the now reduced spec requirements, I will take the liberty of pinging you if I need further help. Your response and another member’s DM have basically sorted it for me. Thank you again.
