Does anyone know for sure that Xbox x series will play the Ms flight sim 2020?
100% sure it will play it, since it will be released on that platform.
No idea of what the visual fidelity will be, but it seems that the XBox is a pretty strong platform.
Yes guaranteed.
Some other things to consider#
Upgrade your TV to 4k model
Ensure your TV is enabled for HDML 2.1 (this is critical0
Series X is focused on delivering 4K at 60fps, with some games upping that to 120fps, I honestly think MSFS will output to 120 fps that will be stunning in MSFS.
Xbox on MSFS will launch in 2021
Look forward to your screen shots on the Xbox x with MSFS running
While the new XBox does look pretty darn powerful (especially considering the price), you’re not going to get 120FPS at 4K. Not a snowball’s chance in hell I would expect 30FPS at 4K, but we’ll see.
Good grief. I may need to add Xbox X onto my list of ‘peripherals’ for MSFS!
Untrue. HDMI 2.0 is good for 4K 60hz.
HDMI 2.1 brings 4K 120Hz and 8K.
yes your right typo HDMI 2
Also, I bet MSFS will be 30FPS locked at 4K.
There is still a long way to go for Asobo to optimize render times to have consistency.
From ETW traces/DX frame time monitoring I can see some frames do double work and some frames almost nothing.
That said, I have no idea why they even bothering with VR at this stage.
You my friend have made my day…u sound like you are telling true…thanks…yes I will post screen shots …I have paid for the MSFS and tried to run it on slower level PC…not good…so I will now wait for XBOX Series to let me buy…I have an ASUS PA329Q LCMonitor which does a nice job on the few 4K stuff that I have tried
OK thanks for this
thanks my friend
Flight simulator 2020 will be my reason for buying a xbox series x, no point me getting one at the moment until I have seen Flight sim running on an xbox and what controls we can use, and more importantly how it runs, been waiting along time for this, I can definitely wait a little longer
I bought FS2020 but my PC hardware is too slow. Can I use the same license on the Xbox X?
No you cannot. But if you have Ultimate Game Pass you should be fine going that route.
That’s the way I’m doing it i.e. through Ultimate
Lets just clarify;
if you purchase MSFS 2020 directly for PC that will not run on Console, currently
if you purchase through Ultimate that will run on Xbox
Note the purchase through Ultimate Xbox is a subscription based model you don’t own the software ironically neither do you own the software when you purchase for PC you merely have a licence albeit a different licence to a subscription based model
if you purchase the Premium Deluxe MSFS etc through the marketplace you ‘own’ that software caveat you don’t own it you have a different type of licence.
lets cut to the chase the consoles will take MSFS to the next experience level.
nah, it will just open it up as an option for people without powerful PC’s.
Hi Everyone
Just thought I would update this thread.
MSFS- XBoX currently in development by ASOBO
Date of Release-2021
FPS-Yesterday one of Microsoft’s development studios (Moon Studio) announced they were locking 4K graphics at 60 frame-per-second (FPS) on the lower-end Xbox Series S. Gamers can choose between 1080p HDR locked at 120 FPS or 4K at 60 FPS https://www.orithegame.com/release-notes-ori-xbox-series-x-s/
On Xbox Series X, their games Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be 4K locked at 120 FPS, with an optional 6K super-sampled mode at 60 FPS outputting in 4K HDR.
At the bare minimum MSFS will be at 60fps at 4k on the consoles
When I hear of further updates or news I will update the thread
