Xbox X Turtle Beach Flight Stick not detecting turtle beach rudder pedals

Hey! I’ve been using the Turtle Beach Flight Stick for a few months without issue for MSFS. I’ve been gifted the Turtle Beach Rudder Pedals recently. The flight stick doesn’t seem to recognise or find the rudder pedals at all (no icon appears on the flight stick screen). The firmware on the flight stick is fine. And I checked the firmware on the rudder pedals by plugging then into my PC - also fine. The rudders are in Xbox mode so it’s not that. Also hard reset the Xbox. I can’t figure out if the issue is witj the cord that connects the 2, with the rudder pedals themselves or with the flight stick. Any ideas??
Does any have a phone number for TurtleBeach helpdesk please?

The cable between the two devices must meet certain requirements. It didn’t work for me either with a normal USB cable at first. That’s why I ordered a new one online. Since then, everything has been fine. Youtuber Huddison has a great video on this topic.

Thanks, I’ve found the video and given it a watch. I’ll head the computer shop tomorrow to get another, better quality cable to test. Daft that the one turtle Beach sent isn’t adequate- but I’m not surprised. Thanks for the heads up!

I have the yoke and flightstick plugged in, pedals are plugged into the yoke. Sometimes if any throttle lever is in the detent on startup it won’t recognize the rudder or brakes in msfs, although it shows in the training screen.

There also used to be another bug where you wouldn’t get working detent positions if you booted with a lever in a detent, it doesn’t recognize some axis.

Also when you get in make sure rudder axis are removed from the flightstick or yoke in your config. I know when pedals are in, the triggers get a new axis assignment.

With MSFS booting up and choosing a random control profile every time with no logic, sometimes you have an older profile loaded that doesn’t represent current hardware configurations, especially piggyback ones which can also mess it all up, say where it can’t find axis 2 rudder and the yoke triggers are now axis 12 saved in other profiles, and other profiles have the rudder completely deleted from one item, like the flight stick or yoke because you added pedals. Being they always show in the training/test screen of the yoke, it’s an MSFS bug. Using the trim wheel on either/both and having electric elevator trim in the same profile is another way to cause havoc, if you start up in a MSFS randomized control profile that has a conflict.

MSFS should have the system planned for matched aircraft/profiles they plan on 2024, OR they should not have a profile loaded and should make you choose it for the device before initiating. I’ll leave with the profile that has the sidestick for the SR22 using the yoke’s throttle quadrant with the pedals slaved to the yoke(which is out of the way in this instance) and all yoke axis/buttons are removed, and it boots up the next time with the standard yoke jet profile for some unknown reason, one of the ones you can’t delete.

If you have a few spare minutes when you have profiles you really are set on, go back to ‘assigned’ and make sure there aren’t duplicates of actions or unneeded ones hidden in the profile, like 3 dupe of the same camera commands you thought you only had set up to one direction on the hat. As you make new profiles it brings a ton of extra ones from defaults over unless you created a completely ‘raw’ base profile that you duplicate.

Did the new cable fix it for you?

Sure did. The supplied Turtle Beach cable didn’t work at all, one from the local computing shops fixed everything.
