I have no idea what this means. I control my throttle with SpadNext and that works as per
the normal setup. The keyboard mapping is to THROTTLE for example throttle increase is mapped to F3
All this works fine on ALL planes except this Yakovlev plane. Its from Nemeth a company I normally avoid but alas I noticed too late it was made by them. My bad.
If by changing settings I can change things then great, maybe someone will be so kind to explain to me how I configure this âthrottle1â control as I fear I am totally stumped.
Moving the throttle with the mouse inside the cockpit works fine but the throttle control on my quadrant doesnt.
My gratitude to anyone who can assist.
This is an issue that has recently arisen.
It affects a lot of addon planes, but not the default.
So that we donât affect those, we need to create a new profile for throttle.
Go into the Controls Options.
Ensure you have your controller highlighted at the top
Then, from the bottom, select âPreset Managerâ, then click on the two small overlaping squares (next to the + sign) to create a duplicate new one.
It will then display a suggested new name. If you want to change that, go ahead and do so.
The top heading will then display the new name.
On the left hand side, you will see the word âassignedâ.
Click on that until it displays âAllâ
You will see in the main body, under âPower Managementâ âThrottleâ, that your controller is bound to âThrottle Axisâ.
In the column to the right of that, you will see what this command is currently bound to.
Left click on that and select âClear Current Inputâ and then âValidateâ
Next, scroll down the control list until you see âThrottle 1 Axisâ, follow that line over to the first column to the right and click on the empty spot.
In the dialogue box that comes up click on âStart Scanningâ.
Now move your throttle.
You will see the controllerâs description of your throttleâs axis appear.
Select âValidateâ.
At the bottom of the screen, select âApply and Saveâ.
Thatâs it!
When you want to use this profile for the 18T, you will need to select it from the top menu in the Controls Options when you highlight the controller. Use the other profile for your regular use.
Sevenflyer: thanks you for this explanation. I will try it. I have always configured all controls
via SpadNext so I will also investigate that but I think this mapping will have to be done.
If I understand correctly this is infact a new MSFS bug introduced at SU7 level.
I do hope that MS will fix this in SU8 although I have to say it is the first time that I have
hit this issue.
Sevenflyer: I have now tried this new profile setup and although it works after a fashion
the results are intermittend.
I found that this 18T plane is really entirely setup for keyboard control.
As such I have left my profiles as before knowing that my setup works fine with all other planes defaults and Market Place bought, leaving the quadrant the way I have set it and I will control this Yakovlev throttle with the F2 and F3 keys that work fine with it without any changes.
I do normally control everything with SpadNext that is really excellent and prefer to leave things as they are.
If MS doesnt address this issue in SU8 then I will probably write yet another Nemeth plane off to experience and pay a bit more attention in future.
I do thank you though for taking the time to provide this solution.
i did the same thing contact Nemeth and after two weeks got the reply change to throttle one axis. which i did and works fine, just have to revert to default with non affected aircraft. to my knowledge indiafoxtecho were the only devs that brought out an update as the change affected there Mb-339. and they did that a week after the last update
Sevenflyer: I feel I should respond again and say that due to not following your excellent instructions I screwed up the configuration.
I overlooked the line ; âNext, scroll down the control list until you see âThrottle 1 Axisâ, follow that line over to the first column to the right and click on the empty spot.â
and mistakenly configured the first empty Throttle axis box I came across.
Stupid is as stupid does I guess.
Your instructions if followed precisely work perfectly.
Thanks.
