Brief description of the issue:

Since installation of the latest mandatory update and the World Update XVIII, some tree textures have turned a bright neon yellow-green. This is predominantly seen in central Europe but also showing up in the USA in some areas.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

This is over Zurich:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Start a flight from Zurich, it’s immediately obvious there. Also seen to a lesser degree at Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Lucerne, Allentown USA, central France. Could not see this over Bosnia or the southern UK but that doesn’t rule out it being present.
I have tried: deleting rolling cache, emptying Community folder, deleting Nvidia shader cache, restarting computer, uninstalling World Update XVIII, sacrificing a cockerel. Nothing helps.

Do you use Rex Accuseason?

No, nothing like that. These aren’t “autumn” type colours, they’re a lurid flat neon and not in any way realistic.

If it’s of any use, these errors are what comes up when I look at the debug console in Dev mode. I don’t really understand any of this but was looking because I found a site that suggested looking for missing texture files in the Packages folder. I can see some missing textures listed but they don’t look like the relevant ones and they are not in the Packages.

Here’s what they look like close up.

Could this be generated trees badly blending in with photogrammetry trees?

I considered that so I went to look in areas without photogrammetry. It’s not that.

I spawned on the runway at EBBR yesterday with a Longitude after downloading all of the recent updates including WU18 and had a neon green tile just next to the plane. After doing the downloads, I exited the sim and then restarted it as I normally do.

Re-spawned but the neon green tile was still there. It was the only one I saw at the airport and while flying to EDDB.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

no

positioning at same location than your screenshot, don’t see those yellow trees.
@MucusTech: try to start in safe mode (it will disable your community and marketplace addons): once in the sim, go to your Windows Task manager and terminate msfs.exe. Restart the sim and you’ll get the safe mode option.

This worked! And I have now tracked down the addon causing the problem too.
Adding the marketplace addons in one by one revealed the culprit to be REALISTIC TREE HEIGHT by 4 Simmers. Although I had previously tried deactivating this, it had made no difference because I had not realised I needed to restart the sim after deactivating it for it to take effect.
I will remember to try the Safe Mode method for any future bugs encountered. Thank you.
Here is what the trees are meant to look like. I think they are buddleia bushes.

Glad you identified the culprit :+1:, you should report it to 4 Simmers if not already done by other users.
Moved to User Support Hub Install, Performance & Graphics since not a base sim bug.
