Yoke recommendations

Hi all,
I currently use the Turtle Beech velocity one flight yoke and although it works fine to a point I’m finding the elevator control is sticky and makes landing a bit of a challenge.
I have seen a Mod where a guy 3D printed a bearing mechanism that gave the yoke rod some support but I don’t think he makes them anymore.

So, I’m thinking of replacing the Velocity one with something like the Honeycomb yoke. Would like to hear users feedback back on this yoke or any other good suggestions :+1:

I have looked at the Moza controls but can’t afford that really although I’d love one as they very good quality.

Thanks in advance

Have a look at these https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/virpil/virpil-controls-advanced-flight-simulator-yoke May have to wait a while but they look GREAT!!! FWIW

I had the Velocity one for about a year and had the same experience. I tried the fix you’re speaking of and found it didn’t really help.

About 6 months ago I switched to the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo and it is night and day. The Honeycomb feels premium. The Alpha is smooth all the way through it’s travel, highly recommend. My only complaint is the spring tension could be softer, it takes some grunt on landings if you are really flaring, but it is still smooth.

The Bravo is also great, I do not like the trim wheel as much when compared to the Velocity one, but with free 3rd party software and about 10 mins of setting that up the trim wheel is almost as good ad the Velocity one.

I got my Honeycomb combo slightly used on Ebay for just over $500USD to my door. You could probably use the throttle from your Velocity one combined with the Alpha (I’m not 100% sure the Velocity one throttle will work on it’s own, I would test that before you take my word for it) if you want to save some money and don’t plan on selling the Velocity one.

Thanks for replies much appreciated. Some yokes there that I’ve not heard of before to check out👍
@atistang, I did think that I could use my throttle quadrant on its own to use with something like the Honeycomb so will test that out.

With my Honeycomb yoke I use the Logitech Throttle quadrant.

Hmmm, looks interesting but three times the price of the Honeycomb. Not sure about availability in Australia.
