Did upgrade prices dropped in the Marketplace too? Not at home atm, I wouldn’t mind upgrading to Premium Deluxe for a fair price
Let’s do the math. Forecasts assume 2.5 billion invests in hardware because of FS2020. If you calculate an average of 1k invest per user - no matter if it’s the newest graphics card or mainboard and CPU - this means, according to Adam Riese the licenses they plan to sell are ~2 - 2.5 million.
Facts? Let’s wait for Christmas and talk again in January.
So you do see at as actually discounted price?
The problem was never its price… we had to spend more than that only in orbx scenery in other sims. The thing is they didn’t deliver what was advertised. Game is so broken now that even 10 dollars is expensive. Once and if they fixed it in the near future, we will find it very cheap. I was in love with this sim before launch because we wouldnt have to buy 30 addons to have a good experience. So i aint gonna back to xplane not p3d. But it will be a painfull walking until they achieve the greatness i was expecting.
I had a GamePass… First month 1€, second month 3,99€, and then decided to buy Premium Deluxe at discount for 95,99€. Total paid 100,98€ and now I don’t have GamePass, but I have full game.
Completely understandable feeling when the product doesn’t meet expectations. At least they’re talking the talk about improving the game, and the at least the design/base of the game is something that can be improved.
We will see with the sim update in Nov.
It is almost like buying a new car. First time the tires hit the road, value comes off 20%.
Good deal. I have paid €120 because it was more comfy Anyway, peanuts compared to other Sims. Doesn’t matter how much you have paid.
For any game from Microsoft Studios, it feels like this is the way to go as long as you subscribe to game pass a few days after release. It doesn’t make as much economical sense after the price increase for the base game prices now but the premium edition discount is worth it.
I would wait for Christmas. Sure they will give some discount.
I am thinking the same thing but also taking into account the amount I am going to spend on game pass between then and now…
I am also wondering the same thing, for us here in Germany is 119€
That’s my thought too. My next renewal goes from $6 to $12 (CAD) on Oct 18.
Right now with my Game Pass discount the Deluxe is $24 CAD off. It would have to go on sale for more than $48 off for it to be worthwhile to wait.
Gamepass price is not really relevant to the amount being charged for the full version whether it is $1 or $10. It still works out cheaper if this IS only a Gamepass discount - because you are getting at least a months worth of free premium games, as well as MSFS, plus a fairly decent discount if you buy the thing outright.
PS 65.2GB downloaded… If this install gives me an Insert Disk Error …
To be honest, that was my rationalization when the Game Pass price was in the beta - if I play any new game once a year, it will be worth it. But the price is relevant to me because I’m not a gamer and the chances of me playing any other game are nil.
If MSFS is $80 for the standard edition and Game Pass is $12 per month, I can play on Game Pass for 6 months and I’ve spent $72. The next month means it will have cost me more than if I had bought it outright.
Wasn’t it said that If you want the Steam powered Cessna and some other airports, then your best buy would be the Premium Deluxe version, because even if you got the $1 GamePass version, the upgrades would end up costing you more than buying (at the pre-paid) price of £109.99? This it seems, is not true.
Ahh. Only 2.7GB of the DL I started with this thread to go…
I wouldn’t order the game via the Microsoft Store. Initially I had purchased the game pass for $1 a month. After a few weeks of flying the basic version, I decided to go ahead and buy the deluxe version they were offering via the games marketplace. I then went ahead and canceled my game pass subscription since I though I didn’t need it anymore. Since cancelling, I have not been able to access the game at all. I called Microsoft and told about the problem but they stated that I did not purchase the game. Instead what I had purchased were credits I could use in the marketplace. They further explained that the $84 dollars or credits were already spent when I make the decision to upgrade to the deluxe version. What they don’t tell you is that in the event you decide to cancel your game pass subscription you wont be able to access the game any more.
Yes, they do tell you that. You should read the description of UPGRADE again.
Upgrades don’t include standard/basic version of the game.
If you are using GamePass, you should buy the standard version too, if you want to keep playing without the GamePass. So simple.
And because you already bought the upgrade, then you have the whole game, including deluxe content.
Best deal would have been to take $1 GamePass, and buy the deluxe or premium deluxe now when there is a discount for GamePass users.
there was a guy 2 months ago that did that. He bought the deluxe, then canceled the GP. He kept the Deluxe but he still needed the base game so he had to pay another 60 bucks on top.
The post should be there around. The last time I read his post he was about to write MS to see how to fix his license problem.
I had this bug, just had to log back on my windows store account and all was fine.
