HOT LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT!
With massive “AN-225 sized” gratitude to @DannyMalloy for his skill and very kind offer to help me develop this into an online, dynamic, SQL database driven website, I am proud to launch the MSFS Aircraft Charts “ONLINE”!
Visit https://msfs.b250.net
New Features:
-
FILTER & SORT by any Data (or combination of things) that you want to see, such as:
-
Category (GA, Airliner, Turboprop, Business Jet, Helicopter, Military (Classic or Modern), Warbird, Glider, Vintage / Biplane, Seaplane etc).
-
Developer (to see a list of their aircraft and the positions they hold)
-
License type (Payware / Freeware / Base game products including Deluxe / Premium)
-
2024 Career Mode Compatibility
-
Entry Year (when “first vote” was received)
-
-
This now means you can filter any Chart to display TOP AIRCRAFT PER CATEGORY (as requested numerous times) and I can easily grab that data to present here (potentially, although that is not planned at the moment as you can do it yourself now!)
-
TEXT SEARCH for Developer Name, Aircraft Name, or any part of each.
-
BROWSE previous months results (and previous years as we go forwards too!).
-
You will be able to PRINT any view you want to PDF if you so desire (from the browser).
Important to note: as we have only 1 month worth of entries in this “new start database”, the comparison to previous months (up/down rank arrows and values) will not work until next month, so currently all aircraft are considered “new entries” although we have retained their age (Weeks in Charts) to secondary-sort those with the same number of votes by having newer mentions appear above older mentions, same as before. So full functionality will start happening next month!
How will this work now?
-
I will be managing the Charts via my new back-end admin tool which has made the process a lot faster and easier for me.
-
You will still post your Top 10’s (…up to 10) here as usual.
-
On my back-end, each “user” now has their own card / record containing their current votes, but we also keep a history of their changes so we can do “stuff” with that data in future.
-
I will still published “Top 25” snapshots on the forum as usual, so it’s not necessary to visit the website to see what you have been seeing here.
-
The website gives you the OPTION to see the complete Charts (not just Top 25’s and replaces the need for a downloadable PDF) and Filter to your hearts desire, see the entire list, get more details and manipulate the views as you wish.
-
Publishing will still only be done at the end of the month/start of following month (same as before). So the website results are not 100% LIVE “to the day” as such. You will only see the updated data when I publish it, meaning we do still keep the element of surprise to see how both of the Charts have changed since the previous month.
This is only our first iteration, so there may well be some bugs (although it has been tested as much as we can with the data we have!). Please do report anything you find here so I can fix it, or ask any questions you may have. Enjoy!
I could do with some input about if any of the aircraft already listed are Career Compatible in 2024 as I have probably missed a few of those so far.
Coffee as Fuel?
I have also set up myself a Buy Me A Coffee page which is linked from a Button on the website or the link below. Of course I don’t want anyone to feel obligated in the slightest to use it, as I do this for the fun and for helping the community, but it’s there anyway if you felt like supporting me in that way. It would be greatly appreciated ![]()
This Topic does take me quite a few dozen hours per month to manage for the last 5 years so I’d be extremely grateful for anyone that would feel like throwing some coffee my way as a “thank you” and as some gentle encouragement to continue for another 5 years! ![]()
