How about Bagolu’s C172 Bush mod? Or the C170B with bush tires? They scratch the itch for me.
For me this month:
- Fenix A320
If I’m flying I’m probably flying the Fenix.
- A2A Piper Comanche
Since I won this a few days ago it would be rude not to fly it. It would also be a huge waste because it’s an amazing rendition and I absolutely love the whole experience. This plane has taken GA to a whole new level. I expect I’ll be flying this a lot.
Fenix and A2A are standout developers at the top of their game. With these two around everything else is an also-ran. For completeness here’s the rest of my list, unchanged for a couple of months. I did fly the VJ a little, for some sightseeing, and the G2 when I wanted to hover. I think the others are probably dusty.
- Cirrus Vision Jet
- FlyingIron Spitfire
- Inibuilds A310
- Cabri G2
- Zenith CH701 STOL
- C-22J
- P42 Kitfox
- Concorde
Same list as last month.
- A2A Commanche 250
- Ant’s Airplanes Tiger Moth
- Big Radials Noorduyn Norseman
- Blackbird Simulations DHC-2 Beaver (w/ GotFriends Expansion Pack)
- Blackbird Simulations C310
- Cowan Simulations 500E
- FlyingIron BF 109-G6
- Got Friends DoubleEnder
- Got Friends PZL-104 Wilga 35/80
- PMDG Boeing 737-800
I missed uploading a list for last month, but here is my new list for August. I did not spend a lot of time in the sim this month, but there are still a few changes to the list.
-
FlyingIron Bf-109: When I was 10 years old, I saw a 109 fly for the first time and it got me hooked to warbirds. But apart from a sentimental value, in my opinion it’s FlyingIrons best release so far and is as close to perfect as it gets. I love doing aerobatics with it and landing it at small grass strips.
-
FlyingIron Spitfire: It’s probably more fun to fly then the 109, but also less challenging. It was one of my first addons I bought when I finally got MSFS last year, but I can’t get enough of it.
-
FlyingIron Hellcat: It’s perfect for a “relaxed” warbird flight. It’s very easy in every phase of the flight but still a lot of fun to throw around.
-
Blackbird Corsair: It’s probably still my favorite aircraft for aerobatic displays. The last update brought quite a few improvements to it, however there are also a few things that have gotten worse in my opinion and make it a bit less enjoyable, like the cylinder head temperature that immediately jumps into the green or that you no longer need your trim for takeoff. This together with the ground handling is the reason why FlyingIrons taildraggers are higher up my list.
-
FlyingIron Lightning: I flew the Lightning a lot more over the last two months, it’s just very enjoyable. It’s surprisingly agile for its size and very easy to fly, which seems to be accurate to the real one. The famous warbird pilot Steve Hinton says that the hardest part about flying the P-38 is climbing in the cockpit.
-
AT Simulations An-2: I think it’s one of the best aircraft out of the FF/LL series. It’s just a massive 1000hp STOL plane that can also do aerobatics…what is there not to like.
-
CowanSim H125: Over the last few months I finally got into helicopters. I’m still hopeless at flying them, but there are three I really enjoy, the Mini-500, the Alouette and the H125. The H125 is the newest in my hangar of the three, the easiest to fly and the one I flew the most this month, which is why it made the list.
-
Sim Skunk Works SF-260: It might still have a few flaws, like the soundset and the low stall speed, but in my opinion, it is one of the most fun planes in the sim for aerobatics. It does hammerhead turns and spins like a champ, but requires a bit of precision, which keeps it interesting.
-
BlueMesh Latecoere 631: I just love those old flying boats and with the Latecoere the level of detail is fantastic. The Do X comes extremely close to it, but the 631 just might be a bit more enjoyable to fly.
-
AzurPoly TB-30: Another aircraft I love doing aerobatics with. I really like all three releases by AzurPoly, but the Epsilon is the one I fly by far the most. It looks great, flies nice and has a fantastic soundset.
The Wilga should really be on this list, it’s one of my favorite airplanes in the sim, however I only flew it a couple of times this month, which is why I choose a few different ones this time…it’ll be back next month I’m sure =)
I have a feeling that over this weekend my list is gonna change A LOT! Last night I bought the F-117, Honda Jet, Vision Jet, and F-35. I skipped on F-22 for the meanwhile though it’s coming soon. Time to shake things up! I also held off on B-2 Spirit from iniBuilds in hope that Top Mach will outdo it, which I have very little doubt in. The only one I flew last night on a 300 nm flight was the Vision Jet which was lovely! There are a LOT of historical birds now and I love them, but that made me feel on the cutting edge of aviation TODAY. Their implementation of Garmin glass was flawless and while there were bugs in terms of speed with AT, I felt ok with manual speed settings. More to come soon, especially now that JF has released Hawk and Fokker updates!
Here's my top ten Hobbs, no prizes for guessing number one
001 0138:18 = Supermarine Spitfire L.F Mk IXc [Flying Iron Simulations]
002 0080:52 = Cessna C208B Grand Caravan EX [Asobo]
003 0048:28 = Hawker Hurricane MK I [Fsadni]
004 0047:32 = Jabiru J160/J170 [Iris Simulations]
005 0037:28 = Diamond DA40 [Asobo]
006 0035:00 = Airbus H135 | Rotorcraft [Hype Performance Group]
007 0014:30 = JMB VL3 [Asobo]
008 0013:32 = FlightDesign CTLS [Asobo]
009 0012:56 = Cessna 172 Bush [Bagolu]
010 0012:45 = Hawker Hunter [Dave Garwood]
Almost forgot to tell you, I managed the Dalaman Hawk blast yesterday, stalled and crashed on the threshold.. Note to self, the Hawk requires a higher landing speed than a Spitfire.. although not as much as I would have expected
My list stays the same once again, just nothing new on the market that convinced me to buy and try.

Been flying the A2A Comanche almost exclusively since getting it, to give it the full run it deserves.
Handling is a dream. Approach speeds and landing took a bit of getting used to in comparison with other flight models, and finally got the hang of manually flying ILS approaches in crummy IFR low visibility. My, what ‘fun’ I’ve had
The C414 is still hanging in there, still really my all-time favourite.
My tubeliner days are coming to an end. Got the Fenix V2B1 and have again had PC/Sim issues. Don’t blame them, it’s my PC is being a right d—-.
Haven’t touched the PMDG for an age now, same for the ATR.
As can be seen, my top 4 are all top fidelity, no comprise, wonderfully simulated GA aircraft.
GA FTW!

I’m finally back in the cockpit after a longish hiatus. A bit too early to shake up my top 10 very much, but I’ll change it a little bit just for fun.
New list:
- Ant’s Airplanes Tiger Moth
- Wilma
- Antonov AN-2
- Mini-500
- Farman F60 Goliath
- Top Rudder 103
- Rara Avis Zippy
- Flysimware Nieuport 24
- Mario Noriega C-22J
- Big Radials Noorduyn Norseman
Old list:
I put the AN-2 further up the list, not that it matters. But I just enjoy this plane more every time I fly it.
The Norseman entered my list because it is right up my alley. Without a few small bugs and inop controls it would be very near to the top of my list.
The Zenith dropped out of my list. I only had one flight after the long break and got really annoyed by the flaps automatically retracting when I went just a tad too fast. Some real life pilots please chime in on this, but surely that’s not the case in the real thing?
-
FENIX A320 - because I am analytical and it was the plane that got me into MSFS
-
SWS Kodiak 100 - fantastic plane for getting into locations the a320 cant go…lol
-
TBM 930 - Just because I like the plane itself. Visually and operationally
-
Citation Longitude - bizjet class plane that provides a mixture of experiences between airliners and smaller aircraft
-
ATR 42/72 - a plane that fits right into regional island routes. A bit challenging to fly compared to some others, but really enjoyable
-
WBS Cessna 172 - its tough to beat a high wing plane for just overall site seeing tyoe flying
-
PMDG 737-600 - really great plane, especially for the cost (although I personally just prefer to fly the fenix)
Thats it for now. No others that I would wish to add a vote for.
New List :
- A2A P-24 250 Comanche (Best GA airplane in existence, I can even say it’s the best aircraft period. Just perfect and setting a new bar for realism in flight simulation. A plane with a soul.)
- PMDG DC-6 (old school cargo plane with 4 engines.. what’s not to like)
- ATR 72 - very fun regional aircraft
- Leonardo Software House MD-80 (just felt in love with this aircraft for some reason)

- Fenix A320 (The best A320 in my opinion)
- PMDG B737-800 (still waiting for the PFD update but pretty solid so far)

Trying to make a last minute submission for this month.
Last Month:
Real life has gotten in the way of flying a lot this month, but felt I needed to add the FlyBoy Simulations RANS S6S. I hadn’t seen much hype about it, but picked it up after I ran across a few good reviews. I really like it. Also put the Beaver back in this month as I really enjoyed trying some water landings with it.
This month:
- A2A Comanche 250
- Black Square Bonanza A36
- Aeroplane Heaven Cessna 140
- Got Friends Wilga
- Carenado Cessna 182RG
- Milviz 310R
- DH-2 Beaver
- Cessna 152 (WBSim/JPL mod)
- FlyBoy Simulations RANS S6S
I dropped the WBSim Cessna 172 and the Just Flight Warrior for now. Just haven’t flown them as much. It’s getting harder and harder to pick out only 10.
No change since July

Will have to stay that way for now but we can adjust next time
August Chart Update
Sorry for delay publishing this - had a nice day yesterday (rare this year!) so made the most of it by spending the day out and about.

====== MY SUMMARY ======
Actually got a bit more movement in the all-time chart top 25 this time. The Comanche is creeping up, now in 22nd place and only gaining 6 spots since last time, so it might take a while for it to catch the top group I think - maybe never will happen. Also there’s a really consistent 1 step up for each of the top 5 (excluding Comanche) in the month chart.
There were 6 new aircraft mentioned this month:
Developer | Aircraft |
---|---|
YSim | SubSonex JSX-2 |
Asobo | Wright Flyer |
Cowan Sim | Bell 206-L3 JetRanger |
Microsoft / Aeroplane Heaven | Ford 4-AT Trimotor |
Sim Skunk Works | Leonardo (SIAI Marchetti) SF-260 |
Microsoft | Aero Vodochody Ae-45 |
…all had just 1 vote each so they are way down
FINAL NOTES: The next Chart Update will be done on 1st October as that is the nearest Sunday to the end of the month.
As usual if you spot any errors, let me know
As I did not hear back from @AshleyPIC or @GamingCat2130 I made some assumptions that could be corrected if we hear back from them.
I could happily pick 20 but 10 is fine for me. Makes it an interesting challenge choosing what are fast becoming 10 seriously good planes.
