Nice!! I’m sure it will.
My new list. I have a new addition and it’s my new #1!
-
DC6 (PMDG)
Wow, the complexity of properly flying a 1940s airliner that’s conveyed with this simulator is fantastic. Every flight feels like a true journey; weather, systems management and terrain feel much more relevant in this plane. Turn all of those realism options on and feel the rage of engines burning out for seemingly no reason… Until you know what you’re doing.
Runs great and pushes the difficulty and planning to the next level. Fantastic job by PMDG and keeping engines healthy between plays adds a whole new element of gameplay. Don’t forget to dilute those engines before turning them off in cold weather
You will need to read the manual and/or watch tutorials to even get this thing off the ground unless you already have experience with realistic prop engines. -
737 (PMDG)
Runs great, does everything you’d hope it would. I recommend activating the HUD, sun shades, and eyebrow windows. Only downside is a non functional pause at top of descent and lack of EFB/tablet. -
A320 (Fenix)
More polished and perhaps better than the PMDG 737 but my computer gets worse frame rates and so rather than tweaking my settings to make just the Fenix run properly i just don’t use it as often as I’d like. -
Bae-146 (Justflight)
Fun plane with unique systems and procedures. Not your standard modern airliner. -
CRJ (Aerosoft)
Small and sporty, the 700 is a fun little airliner to cruise around in. The 900 and 1000 are interesting to fly as they feel very underpowered which makes them a bit challenging at high altitude. Try some flights from Lima Peru into the mountain airports - not always easy especially the takeoffs!
Honorable mentions:
Working Title / Asobo CJ4
The best free plane in this game.
The FBW team has made the Asobo a320 into an incredible simulator. Excited to see what this team puts out next.
The Salty team has also made the Asobo 747 fun to fly. While some extra systems are automatic with their switches labeled nonfunctioning, a great deal or functionality has been added with the mod.
I may have to purchase the 414 and see what all the fuss is about, for testing purposes only of course.
Rude not to now they put it on Xbox for you to test!
Great point! I like your way of thinking…
Dunno what I’m letting myself in for, but I started a new Topic
If anyone feels like contributing - let’s do it!!
It is pricey, but it just looks too good. I’ll have to watch some videos on it before I make my decision.
Well, I did it!!

My actual list of favorite planes now extends longer than 5 aircraft so I went with the 5 that I’ve flown the most recently. The Kodiak finally fell off the board, definitely not because of quality but simply because I haven’t flown it in a month. The RV-14 by SWS is a sneaky fun aircraft to fly and has become my go-to for sightseeing. P-38 makes a return after flying around with some other warbirds and rekindling that fun. I don’t see the Goose ever dropping. Come on DC-3 in November!
New list:
- FlySimWare Cessna 414A
- Big Radials Grumman Goose
- Marwan HJet
- SWS RV-14
- FlyingIron P-38
Old list:
- Big Radials Grumman Goose
- SWS Kodiak 100
- Carenado/Asobo V35 Bonanza
- SWS RV-14
- Asobo Local Legend #5 Beech 18
Will be there later. You don’t know what you just got yourself into lol. Sooo many airports lol.
I’m curious to see where the newly released FI F6F Hellcat will land. No pun intended.
Early reports state that she is a beauty to fly, and that ground handling is completely custom.
No votes yet for the Hellcat!
Warbirds are a little bit of a niche market, and it is very new. The ground handling comments intrigue me. I may pick it up just to see how that custom code has been implemented.
I bought it and squeezed a flight in last night (didn’t think I’d get around to it until after the weekend but I managed a quickie).
First impressions are solid indeed. Can’t go wrong with Flying Iron can ya. I’d probably buy a flying iron from them if they release one. As long as it was a steam one
The only two planes that will be able to knock out the f18 is the upcoming f117 and upcoming DeHavilland dash 7
I love the Nighthawk. Not sure about it in the sim though. Really needs some missions to make it more relevant. Maybe one day it’ll be possible for third parties!! I’ll defo buy it though just to hoon around in!
Since getting DCS and a few modules, I can’t bring myself to use military planes in MSFS any more. They aren’t complex enough for me and don’t feel as good to fly.
The Sunday Runway Show is Live and In The Air!
