Just seen one of your favourites was Victoria Falls. I have to agree with you there. Jeppeson2001 did a fantastic job with it. Utterly amazing in VR in a chopper. Just a shame the Bing imagery is so poor for Africa as a whole. Been on Holiday to the Falls in my younger days. Never did the Bungie Jump didn’t have the guts
But now Jeppeson2001 updated the scenery with sounds its even better!
Yeah Jepp is the Don!
Niagara Falls is awesome too.
Wonder how //42’s Victoria Falls compares? Unusual to get a second version from another highly-renowned dev.
It’s the same thing. They are officially working with Jepp now and bringing all his sceneries to their store.
I’m trying to find this beautiful scenery - I guess it is Yosemite: Does anyone know the coordinates?
Rough guess: 37.71705270414034, -119.66171962852235
I’ve be trying to comb the whole area. Thanks!
Updated:
I tried it and it is spot on. Thanks again!

Well since I’m an American expat living in the Alicante area of Spain, born and raised in Arizona, with best friends and traveling companions living near Liverpool, my list includes:
The Alicante, Spain region as well as up and down the coast including Valencia, Barcelona, Granada and flights into Madrid.
Areas of Arizona (although I am terribly upset right now with the degradation of the Phoenix valley and its landmarks. i hope that gets upgraded soon). Grand Canyon, Sedona, Meteor Crater, Tucson and its mountains are all stunning.
Flights in the UK including the Liverpool area, London, Wales. I just in real life got to visit Ireland for the first time so I’ll be retracing my steps there from Dublin to Dingle and the amazing western cliffs.
I agree with a previous poster that Italy is wonderfully rendered.
I mostly fly a 172 although have dabbled a bit with an A320. Still lots to learn there. Helicopters are surprisingly fun although I do have all the assists on.
So I checked my Volanta flight logs and was pretty easy to see where I love to fly - the State of Washington (where I live):
-
Washington USA. It makes sense, my dad is retired Boeing. I literally drive by KRNT (Renton) and KBFI (Seattle) weekly. The scenery is fantastic and some of the best approaches and routes around. KSEA, KRNT, KPAE, KBFI, KORS. Since I’ve lived here for 50 years of my adult life I can spot landmarks easily so good for VFR. I also ride a motorcycles and camp a lot, so I will frequently fly low in a roto or the Wilga on planned camping trips or rides to scout, which is fun.
-
California USA.
-
Vegas area. I love Vegas and easy to get to from my Washington and California departures.
-
Japan
-
Norwegian Peninsula
-
The UK
-
Australia
-
Alaska, USA
-
PNW (Oregon and Idaho)
-
Vancouver BC
NOTE: I think Africa and South America are completely slept on and I’m now making an effort to fly down there more. Since MSFS has such a western civ base people just go to places they’ve visited or are familiar with. But I’m now finding that South America and Africa have spectacular approaches and sceneries. Africa a bit harder to plan as a lot of sketchy airports and not a lot of long runways, so GA is the best bet. But I’ve been pretty blown away but what I’m seeing in South America and Africa. Those two regions will slowly climb up the charts me thinks…
It is actually it!
A great idea for a thread.
Here are a few (all in MS2024)in no particular order:
-
Many places in New Zealand such as the Wellington area and Milford Sound. I’ve flown around NZ in numerous aircraft.
-
Bora Bora, making use of Cli4d’s enhancement to add more interest and improve it for sight seeing in a heli such as the H125.
-
Grand Canyon in the Airbus H125. Take off from one of the helipads around the Grand Canyon National Park airport. Michael Crawford shows how to follow official tourist routes in his video: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/XOEgdLxAXK4
Will come back to look for inspiration and add more of my suggestions to get to the 10.
Please, let me share 471 my favourite places to fly in flight simulator. The sights were selected during around the world flight by helicopter Bell 407 in MSFS 2020 and divided by countries with nearby airports ICAO codes.
Around the World by Helicopter in Flight Simulator - YouTube
Hope it will guide your new flight experience!)
Wow… around the world in a heli! That is commitment!!!
Michigan has been a really interesting state to fly in along with West Virginia, and I’ve been enjoying flying around NY state again if you avoid NY city and fly around in the main state, it’s actually very interesting

Tofino seaplane base in Canada
