I know there have been topics like this before (but it’s been closed) so sorry if this is like jumping on the bandwagon, but I note that POLLS seem to work pretty well (and @JollyGreen8206 loves voting on things!) so I was trying to digest this Question into a Poll we can vote on. Again it could be useful for DEVELOPERS especially when it comes to the Missions System (unknown) in MSFS 2024.
I want to try and define the answers before I make a poll, so I will REPLACE this post with the poll (or delete the topic and start afresh) once that is done - but I want to ask you all if you think there is anything from this that I have missed or should change before making the Poll? Once it’s running, nothing can be changed without losing all votes so I want to get it right first time.
This is what I have come up with. The idea would be that you can pick 5 from each Poll:

Other issue is we can only have 20 answers so I do need to combine these somehow, or make 2 part poll like I did for my other poll about Important Purchasing Decisions. But that would need more thought on the logic of how to split the tables up so it makes sense.
Looks good, if you have to shim it down to only 20 options, maybe combine some specific missions into say GA missions, Military Missions, SAR/Medical missions. Just a thought.
You could combine 1 and 4; 12 and 16; 7, 17 and 18; 25 and 26; 24 and 29. Also VatSim should be a category on its own, regardless of long or short flights.
mine is everytime ms releases a MANDATORY UPDATE and it screws up the installation(nearly every time) and I spend days getting the new version to work, then find many of the previous features dont work anymore (like my flight yoke sytsem). My wish is NO MORE F#ING MANDATORY UPDATES!!! I would rather live withe semi working fs than ms forcing untested software on me several times a year!! as for FS2024, you have to be joking, fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.
#5 can actually be split. You have large scheduled cargo like FedEx, and then you have small chartered cargo service like you might use the Kodiak or Turbo Porter to make runs in. Both could be considered “Role Play.” One of my favorite runs is from San Juan Dominicci to TNCM with a load of “bat juice” going to the bar on the south end of Maho Beach. Another one is taking a load of fresh Gulf Coast shrimp from Galveston or Corpus Christi inland to Austin or Dallas.
Another option not included on the list is GA air taxi role play. That could be as simple as taking a family on vacation from Orlando to Key West, or a more involved scenario like international investors coming to discuss a land deal with the town council in Stoneville NC. They’re landing on a commercial flight at KRDU, so you arrange to meet them and fly them into KSIF, which is only minutes from where they need to be by car, and the town council will be sending someone to pick them up.

You probably need a Vintage category (to include, but not restricted to, Warbirds).
Then you can sit back and enjoy the arguments about how old an aircraft has to be before it qualifies as vintage (/cough/ Mitsubishi MU-2 - out of production for thirty-seven years /endcough/)
Guys, thanks for your help so far. I have hammered the first post into some sort of shape. 2 polls. One for core activities and second that are like “focus modifiers” that can apply to many of the choices made in the first poll.
Do you think this is looking better and makes sense now?
