@SiRRiPPERORiG can you please update to add sound for multiplayer
I just got this today purely to show the dev I approve of the discount.
The flaps auto retracting over 60mph is a bit weird and being unable to deploy them above 60 is also odd.
Had fun in VR tho. I was in Wellington NZ and because of the wind I was able to fly along side a gaist ship heading into port. With that headwind it was flying incredibly slowly.
I was able to land and take off in the nearby high walled sky soccer stadium.
The flap mechanism is exactly like the real plane. You donāt really need the flaps for general flying. If you have the runway space, it will still land super short without them.
Does the force of the wind push them back? I havenāt even cracked the manual yet. I had to to enable clear skies weather preset. The real wind was too much in that little thing. Hard to sightsee when being buffeted like that, especially in VR
Talk to me about it, I have a modest motion platform - NLR V3 - and I dread taking it out in heavy wind
Itās great for sightseeing in mountainous areas, I have managed to set it down on beaches in the direction perpendicular to the shoreline, in not even 50 feet.
Itās a very light aircraft with a relatively large fuselage and control surfaces. I guess you could fly this thing in real-life if you can fly it in VR, itās that simple ( famous last words ). The downside is that the wind has a nice toy to play with.
I guess the flaps are indeed activated by the airspeed pushing on them. Itās a safety feature to keep the weekend user out of trouble by not having bent rods, snapped cables or cracked hinges. I quite like it, but sometimes you think you have them down, but you donāt because a wind gust or nose drop got them to retract.
With 93% off on the marketplace, this was the best deal Iāve had in MSFS, and probably one of the best in Xbox gaming in general. What a FUN aircraft! Itās modeled beautifully, works perfectly, it will be my favourite VFR plane for sure. Iāve long been searching for something that flies low and slow with an unobstructed view from the cockpit for sightseeing purposes. The Zenith is perfect for it. You can literally land on a helipad with it.
Heck, I almost feel bad that I paid only this much for such an awesome aircraft!
Thanks for recommending this plane @dreampage ! Does it function without problems on Xbox Series X?
Absolutely. No problems on Xbox, it works and runs flawlessly. Itās a really small and simple plane, extremely easy to operate, yet itās fully modeled (openable doors, circuit breakers, variable luggage appearing in the back side in relation to the weight you set, etc). Wonderful thing.
Oh, and itās not just the aircraft. The package actually contains three small handmade airfields and a custom bush trip that takes you through them.
Iāve noticed on some older videos of this plane running on Xbox there is a constant annoying sound, like a switch turning off/on in the background at idle. Is this effect fixed in the current version?
That rattling sound is there but not as apparent as in this video. I didnāt really notice it on the ground, and it completely disappears in the air, or at least you canāt hear it because of the engine noise.
Do you mean the fuel pump?
No, it seems to sound more like very fast clicking. It can be heard in the video above at the beginning when camera switches to cockpit before taking off.
That sound is fuel pump, you can switch it off after takeoff
So not an audio bug. Great, thanks!
Flew it more last night around Catalina island. Forgot about the bush trip, I need to try that.
Iām enjoying it more now Iām less worried about the flaps but it does take some finesse to land and not tip a wheel etc. I was loving the float version with rudder and retractable gear.
Also took it between some of the new small strips in NZ.
This plane defies the laws of physics.
New to the Zenith as I took advantage of the $2 special. First flight I had a banging sound even when cold/dark. Turns out I had spawned the ski-equipped version, and thatās the sound of the ski banging against the ground. Have not tried it with skis on snow, so not sure if they still ābangā there. The fuel pump is more of a āclick, click whirrrrrā sound.
