Hello. It is possible to zoom out the plane on external view?. Default external view is annoying with the plane so close to the camera.
I only can zoom out and zoom in, using +/- , but this zoom out the plane and the scenery together and I get the “inverted fish lens” camera that looks terrible. On FSX and P3D you could do that by pressing CtrL (or Alt) and +/- and only the plane comes closer or further from the camera, but on MSFS this doesn´t work.
Hello what I do is:
Key END to be out of airplane
Key INSERT to be in drone mode.
Then use drone keys:
R F: up down
and W A S D keys like in a normal game additionally also 4 6 from numpad to left and right.
It is a physical camera. You can’t simply zoom out of one part of the image. All is affected proportionally as it simulates lens FOV value change.
What you want is to move the camera away from the aircraft, so aircraft gets relatively more smaller than background. In MSFS that is done with drone camera. With it you can not only change lens value as in external camera, but also move the camera position. Freely or relative to the aircraft.
WzdOz, I try that, but is not very easy to set the distance when you unlock the plane chasing, and you cannot rotate the camera around the plane, like in external view. On drone mode, the camera pan behind the aircraft, not rotate around.
I see, yes you are right. It is not as practical as Xplane’s external chase camera, which combines orbiting around the aircraft and moving in and out.
It may be possible to write an addon, that helps you use the external camera in same manner. I’ll check if it is possible to do that with key bindings or scripts. If not, I am sure someone will come up with an addon in near future.
