Please indicate your playability of the sim with the following statement - PC performance (frames per second) in this build is generally:
- Great
- Good
- Acceptable
- Poor
To report a bug, please use a sub-category of Sim Update 2.
Please provide additional information in the comment section below
Reminder:
Technically, this comment would be for v1.4.7.0, but I see nothing in the release notes for v1.4.9.0, nor my flights in it, to suggest that performance would be statistically different:
As I reported in detail here:
"The addition of Frame Generation in SU2 has provided significant increase in performance (FPS) to my PC system.
The increase in framerates to above 40 FPS for the majority of a flight has now made enabling Dynamic settings a viable proposition (previously, when framerates rarely reached the high 30’s setting, configuring Dynamic Settings with a Frame Rate Target of 40 FPS made no sense).
Enabling Dynamic settings has resulted in virtually stutter-free flights that now match the smoothness of flights seen in MSFS 2020 SU15.
For my PC system with an Intel Arc 770, I’m rating these two builds as “great”.

Performance is amazing here with 1.4.9.0. Never been this good.

i have 12 gb of vram. its not enough even i play on 1080p and lowest texture resolution. Do a complete memory system overhaul.

This has been the worst build for me. I get stuttering I haven’t had before. Frames used to hold a solid 60 in nearly all demand environments, but now I get reductions of frames, particularly when panning around. Reduction of graphics settings doesn’t help.
Seems like there may be a frame gen issue. I use TAA with the 2X DLSS frame gen on a 4080 Super.

Only did a few short flights in VR this morning.
Performance was never better

and your specs: i guess a 4090/5090/7900XTX and 9800x3d. Asobo should up the recommended specs to worlds best hardware. I am not rich boy, just have 4070 super with 12 gb of vram and 5800x3d and 64 gb of memory. Asobo recommends to have 12 gb of vram and i cant even fly a jetson without warning that my vram is low.

Performance is the same as with the previous build, BUT graphics underwent a massive regression (ground textures, LODs, generally an unsharp appearance).
That’s running it on a 4090/7800X3D everything max’ed out on a 4K OLED TV

I have a 7800X3D, 4070 TI Super and 32GB RAM. Running great here and never seen that VRAM message. Guess it’s a matter of not wanting to run everything on Ultra and 4K. I run a mix of ultra and high in 2K.

9800X3D, 4080 Super, 64GB Ram
Most settings on Ultra, some High. 2K screenresolution
1.4.9.0 Super smooth. FPS was never this high.
My compliments to MS/Asobo

I honestly do not even understand the existence of MSFS 2024. Performance is way worse than 2020 in general, graphics are poor particularly in VR together with stutter and micro-stutter frames. Colours tend to bleed on objects with a general washed out cartoon feel like picture coupled with some really bad Bing mapping textures, a cocktail of not that great things…let alone the crashes to desktop and the various and numerous other bugs ! And where is that CPU multicore optimisation?.. as I certainly cannot see it ! I wonder how many years of BETA`s we will have to put up with for this to be playable and enjoyable in general ?

Performance is acceptable. And my GPU temp and load are lower than ever. The takeoff fps drop remains but less frequent.

Totally agree. I’ve thought this ever since the initial release of 2024
I also wish they would fix the aircraft Nav lights and Strobes so that they are visible from a distance during daylight hours. It’s absurd and utterly unrealistic that other aircraft cannot be seen outside of the hours of darkness.

Very happy with the performance of this build. I’m getting a very steady and smooth 30fps without stressing CPU or GPU whilst flying at very low level over London in the Extra.
I haven’t changed my graphics settings since SU1 and I believe the GPU load in SU2 is significantly lower, though its very hard to be scientific about that.
i9-10900K, 64GB RAM, m2SSD, 5080 1 Gbps internet
4K Ultra except textures on High and Fauna turned off.
Locked at 30fps with a frame rate target of 35 set.
Excellent, this is for me the best version of MSFS24. Frame Generation for everyone. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Performance is great, but voted good as the load times after hitting fly are very long. Fix this and I’d say we’re back on track to a great flight sim.
This applies to the both releases of SU2 and is just anecdotal but I believe I’m getting the highest overall frame rates I’ve ever observed with MSFS. More over, with the frame rate cap removed (i.e. set to 100% of refresh rate) it is also the most smooth I’ve experienced. Even when the FPS drops due to more complex scenery or very busy airports it is much smoother overall but of course you still get a little stuttering under those conditions - which reapplying the frame rate limit would cure.
The added pop up warning about exceeding GPU memory has been helpful and eye opening. I have an 8Gb card. I switched to Medium from High because of those and was impressed but how much smoother the experience is when panning views and so on yet without any significant visual loss while flying. This is also subjective but the reduced detailed drawing distance with Medium doesn’t detract for me.
On ground under Medium it takes longer for more detailed object LODs to kick in but even testing on Ultra this it is still the case although the higher details kick in from a little further away. Increasing the OLOD setting to 100 (default 50 at Medium) and even 200 with everything else set to the default Medium improves this without a significant impact on FPS. The overall popping in of better LOD details vs proximity of your aircraft still needs to be improved because it occurs far too late / close to the objects but I recognize that relates to a different issue.

Performance is best ever with either MSFS2024 OR MSFS2020! And I have a very mid-level system with a low-end graphics card. Load time is lowest ever also (including flight loading time).
The second SU2 Beta has fixed/added the following: 1) can add my Community folder back; 2) seems to be working with FSLTL AI aircraft in Community folder; 3) FSR3 is a really nice addition!
VR in the Pimax has gone from smooth in SU1 (45fps) to unplayable in SU2 (10fps). Same settings - latest DLSS preset K.
Also way more laggy and stuttery on desktop.
Also don’t have Nvidia frame gen option available only FSR3.
Way more unstable with multiple CTDs.
Why is VR unplayable now?
RTX5080 & 9800X3D.
Aside from the bugs & problems, sometimes it is fun with this beta.
On bigger Airports i get bad stutter when i approach, but flying in the wild everything good.
The playback rate of the inbuild replay tool seems not to be constant btw.
