Textures are acting weird and screen is flickering aggressively

This issue has been there since the release of SU4. On Fenix, it only happens in the front area, if you go to the back of the passenger cabin it doesn’t happen. Hopefully they will fix it but it coincides with the flickering of the seats/textures in the front area of the plane.

Is this specific to the Fenix?

No, it wasnt there. I didn’t notice any flickering or texture issues like this on previous builds. Currently the flickering appears in every view.

yeah i notice the same. The Fenix cockpit flickers but the view out of the cabin windows wont

So far fenix only. 15 mins into the flight and the flickering is gone. Textures still acting weird.

I have had it since SU4. I had the same thing as you are showing in your video last night (before the latest release). No issues with SU3.

Why is this under “external 3rd party products” ? I am having these flickering even in the default Asobo A320

Yes and its even in default planes. I have no clue why they put it under 3rd party

Thanks for this report. You mention two issues:

  • Texture Popping
  • Screen Flickering.

Screen Flickering

The flickering may be the same as reported here:

So if others are experiencing this, please report in that topic rather than this one, following the instructions of the CM:

Texture Popping

Texture popping has been reported previously in SU4, e.g.:

It would help if you could take another video specifically of Texture Popping to see if this is a regression of previous Texture Popping issues that have been fixed, or a new issue specific to SU4 and/or this .13 build.

For now, I’ll leave this topic in Sim Update 4 Beta | MSFS 2024 > External 3rd Party Products but will likely move if we get more reports of Texture Popping under different scenarios posted here.

Thanks, it looks like the texture popping has stopped. It might have been an issue with the new cache file. However, the flickering is much worse now. I’ve never had a single flicker since day one, but this build has introduced a lot of it.
