Just experienced this again on approach in the PMDG 737-700 into KPSP again.
These freezes are something I never experienced prior to SU15 Beta.

This might help.
It seems to be a āstutterā, not frame rates, and this gentleman has found a cure. It has helped me. Frames are back to smooth. Slow, but glassy smooth for as low as they are. The stutters were getting absolutely crazy.
Basically, in a nutshell, on this fix above, you will clean out the nVidia Cache, and the scenery Cache, run a DiskClean, and reboot. Follow the tutorial precisely so you do not mess anything up. Not too difficult.
Iāve done all that, but for an AMD GPU, and the freeze persists. I donāt have stutters.
Driver version?
24.3.1

Iāve seen this sometimes recently on final usually as AI or scenery at the arrival airport is loading in. You can tell as you can watch things load in in front of you. I have seen the occasional long few seconds freeze before it all returns to normal, not just the more usual quick stutter. This is on latest SU15 beta, and I canāt say itās every flight or airport. I last had in into iniās EGLL which I have the settings dialed back on.
Currently on driver 552.22 (3090) but it was happening with the previous driver too. DX11, 4K.
Is there a way to see if your GC is overheating? Today, for the first time, a flag showed up in MSFS, said it was shutting down the sim because my GC was overheated. I never thought about that, and its been a while since I blew out all the dust. We both might be suffering from high heat zones on chips.

My CPU and GPU barely leave the 50Ā° range. Occasionally, my GPU is in the low, low 60s.
I see this freeze primarily with the PMDG 737, so perhaps it is related to that aircraft.
My āproblemā is I fly too many different aircraft, so my lack of consistency isnāt helping me narrow down the cause.
It could also be KPSP, since that is where Iāve been seeing it.
Iāve been flying GA the last few flights in both California and Hawaii and Iāve not seen the freeze.
One of the guys from Asobo suggested I try a different graphics card driver this evening. I couldnt roll back, so I thought I would see if nVidia had a new driver, and they didā¦ I downloaded and installed it.
ZERO STUTTERS! Running in 4k, flew through a beautiful mountain range with smooth frames. Loveā¦ Love loveā¦
I heard some stuff about how fans werent running right on some new graphics cards, and Windows was even trying to stabilize thingsā¦ Newest version Driver fixed mine.
Man, I hate stutters. It was un-flyable.
Which version is now the one that solved the issue for you?
nVidia Driver 31.0.15.5222 for the (ancient) GTX 1660 6GB card.
Night and day differenceā¦
I see this but only use DX11 and TAA
FYI, some recording apps have been shown to cause stutters:
Well, this is no longer true. I just got a long freeze flying over the Big Island in Hawaii. Iām just cruising along at 7500ā near nothing that would seem to need to load heavy data, like a busy airport.
Finally, I fixed the stutters on the final and my sim is sim update 15 ready. This was due to high disk usage while loading ground aircraft traffic from fstraffic on my m2 SSD. AI Texture Optimizer for MSFS and Prepar3D (izn-flightsim.s3.amazonaws.com) I used this program to downgrade textures to 2k and now there are no final stutters with airports full of planes
