- Most items “bug-logged” have less than 100 votes. The highest score in the most recent bugs is a few hundred.
- This topic is specifically a VR bug. And as Asobo said, VR is a “supported platform”.
- As a percentage of users, 24 votes in this topic is equivalent to several hundred votes in the more general bugs list. i.e this problem is affecting a higher proportion of (VR) users than most of the bug-logged bugs are affecting the general community.
- Even so, this topic has not even been “Feedback-Logged”, never mind Bug-Logged.
This is exactly the problem I am having. The visual artefact makes the sim unusable. Switching the reprojection off removes the artefact, but results in lots of stutters (especially within the cockpit). It never used to be like this, till they worked on the Playstation VR.
That’s right—it’s either an issue with an FPS drop, or they messed something up with reprojection. That’s exactly how it manifests. They clearly tweaked something around that time, but it didn’t turn out too well.
Good find! ![]()
That changelog entry is for the SU7 beta, not the current SU6.1 version, so it’s probably unrelated to this issue.
Although this is in the changelog for SU7, the text refers back to regressions starting in SU6.1:
![]()
And suggests all “these issues” will be addressed.
Looking at it again, it is perhaps ambiguous. It may be intended to mean “…compared with SU6.1” rather than “since SU6.1”, but in this case I’m surprised they refer to SU6.1 rather than just SU6, or even that they refer to SU6 at all rather than calling it the “stable build”.
If I’m wrong, I will be very disappointed.
There are several other threads where people are complaining about FPS or timings (resulting in an FPS drop) in MSFS2024 following SU6. I hope Asobo addresses this seriously. The regression is noticeable, and I agree that rendering performance has worsened; this manifests as faulty reprojection and that wavy image effect. It wasn’t like this for me prior to SU6—in fact, I was very pleased with how MSFS2024 performed in VR before SU6.
The changelog is saying that SU7 currently has some performance regressions compared to SU6.1, not that the issue started with SU6.1 or that this particular problem dates back to SU6.1.
You are confusing VR mode with desktop mode here. The bug threads concern VR mode, whereas the Reddit threads do not.
As I described in one of those threads, I used VR mode extensively around the time of the SU5.1, SU6, and SU6.1 releases because I was developing an add-on that runs in VR. Coincidentally, that add-on displays the frame rate, and there was no difference between the versions. In the meantime, the USB issue with Virtual Desktop has also been resolved, and VR performance is better than ever.
The Reddit threads were created by laptop users whose hardware falls below MSFS’s recommended specifications; laptop hardware is less powerful than desktop hardware, and it simply isn’t up to the task. That, too, is not solid evidence of performance issues caused by the update.
The links you posted actually prove the exact opposite of what you intended to demonstrate.
Folks, please remember to treat other’s opinions with respect and to ensure your posts contribute to the issue of this report.

No improvement in the latest release.
- With Depth Reprojection on, still get the visual artefacts introduced in SU6 when they changed VR to suit the Playstation. I had never had this problem before.
- With Depth Reprojection off, still abysmal frame rates
This was my first flight (and first visit to the forum) since the last release, and will be my last flight (and my last visit to the forum) till the next release. I’m off to alternative flight sims.
I assume you mean Beta MSFS2024?
That doesn’t sound encouraging. I’ve also put MSFS2024 aside for now because of that, the reprojection wasn’t working well, so I’m sticking with IL-2 and DCS for the time being.
