15 FPS on the lowest settings with an RTX 2060 and Intel i7-9700

Hi there,

i play MSFS 2020 and i seem to get 15 FPS on the lowest settings. My setup is mid, i have a Intel i7-9700 and a RTX 2060 but i seem to get 15 fps with even the lowest settings in any aircraft (except stock a320, like 20fps on the lowest settings).
I honestly can’t do anything at this point, i have tried countless performance hacks, NVIDIA Control panel, setting graphics low, freeing up space, ISLC, Registry changes, nothing works. I’m frustated, i cannot play like this, can anybody help and find a real fix to this issue?

Thanks.

You posted this in the Beta Discussion channel. Are you in the SU14 Beta?

Oh, i*ve overseen it sorry. No im not but even in beta its the same.

Hi, with your 9700 is it at stock speeds and have you turned off vt-d and virtualization in the bios?.
I have a 9700k and turning these off helps a lot. Are you on windows 10 or 11?

Just out of curiosity, you say that it’s the same in the beta. Have you joined and left the beta?

Moved to Tech Talk as user is out of Beta.

Yes, i did it via steam, i see no changes.

Is your bios up to date?

I don’t know, i never work with it because it is very dangerous, like when your power goes out when updating bios.

Oh and btw i have 16GB of ram.

What MB do you have? Updating bios is relatively straight forward, it doesn’t take a lot of time, there might be your problem to start with.

I have an MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B51) Micro-Star International, my Bios is UEFI

Look on their website and find the latest bios version number, you should be able to do it via the internet in bios, only takes a few minutes. If not then you can always put it on usb and do it that way. I would have thought that an out of date bios version could be the answer.

Thank you, can you give me more information about this, why could this be the issue, i think its becasue of the graphics card or cpu=

Btw i have a non-K cpu and virtualization is off. Im on Windows 11 and idk what WTD is

Each bios version updates the microcode for the CPU, an up to date bios may on your MB allow better performance of the 9700.

Oh okay, i will try.

If you update the bios and nothing changes then I would look at your windows 11 installation. Unfortunately when I did my upgrade things went really wonky with MSFS. I eventually had to wipe the pc and start again with a fresh install of W11, but it did wonders for my sim. It’s not what anyone really wants to hear or think of doing but it’s an option.

I would ask, are you using an m.2 ssd or hdd?

i have both hdd and ssd, atleast what i see in taskmgr.
