I have 3 X 172s in a company in career mode, and all have identical tail numbers. This causes total confusion when trying to determines which aircraft I want to either use or repair
With 2 of these planes set to ‘crew on’ and one I am flying set to ‘crew off’ it is easy to fly the wrong plane which then cancels the rest of my fleet (10 aircraft) from earning passive income (which is apprently also broken )
All planes in career mode shuld have unique tail numbers which should also appear in all descriptions of the aircraft.
Losing Cr 1.5 million in a day due to this issue is quite infuriating
Here all aircraft have this bug, I set a tail number in config but when comes to flight it appears with some random code based in the country of departure airport.
Chiming in, the colors are not being honored in FSReborn’s FSR500 aircraft. Example seen here, registration should be all white, not gold with a black outline.

Just checking in to see if MS/Asobo have acknowledged that this is a problem or do they see it as simply a Free Flight issue, therefore not a high priority. I do have concerns that this may be part of their thinking. I’m sure they will get to it eventually however I see the Career mode and Challenges seem to take up more of their focus at present.
I think I tried this but perhaps I missed an assumed step.
Selected the aircraft to fly and entered the registration I wanted (actually the random one it had assigned on the previous flight so it would recognise it as the same aircraft in Volanta and continue the flight).
Selected a different aircraft and checked the identification page which showed the registration entered at step one.
Returned to the original aircraft and checked that the identification was still as chosen.
Started the flight to find a new random registration was assigned.
Within Volanta I was able to reselect the aircraft from the previous flight so it will treat it as the same aircraft, but registration is still wrong in game.
I will try again next time, I may have got unlucky on this attempt. It would be helpful to know if others find it does work or can spot a step I missed.
Bug logged but that means nothing. Plenty of bug logged threads in 2020 and nothing was ever done about them. I hope I’m wrong but I’m not confident this will ever be a priority for them. Such a shame, I like consistency and when I’ve flown one aircraft and landed it, the next time I fly it I like to fly it from where I landed it, with the same registration. They don’t seem to understand there are people like us who prefer free flight.
Tried again and it did seem to stick, so 50% success rate so far. I don’t think I did anything different the second time.
It also suggests that the expected behaviour is a global registration again rather than recording the registration (and other configuration) per variant/livery so if you pick the same combination at some point in the future you don’t have to go hunting to figure out what the registration was last time you used it.
