SU1 is being released now, let’s see what surprises SU2 beta brings for our career mode ![]()
and to add confusion, those of us on beta won’t see it for 2-3 hrs. Standby for a mini release day sized influx of users hitting the servers though. ![]()
I just quit the sim after it didn’t let me acknowledge ATC again and Steam is already downloading an update.
Hi you will see that in SU1 career mode you now earn passive income for employee missions.
So you can go back to your favoured 737.
The release notes say following release of SU1 and that has happened… so fingers crossed.
Don’t forget the note for employer missions: “[These career mode changes will arrive later following the release of Sim Update 1]”
So this isn’t quite live yet by the sound of it.
Ive been on su1 beta for ages and havent seen passive income yet. Is this a new change?
The beta is so over. SU1 has landed. But I’m not sure about the passive income for employee missions yet, but it is in the notes so it’s incoming.
Roll on SU2 beta!
SU1 changelog:
Flew 7 hrs yesterday, yet passive income per plane was only showing in the 30-60k range (normal 1 hr rates). Still piled on the right excessive wear rates though so i’m down around 2 million this morning after making repairs.
After using all the betas I have zero faith in the likelihood that SU1 is at all significant for career mode users. At best it’s going to be a sticking plaster over a gaping wound.
did an medium cargo pc-12. plane crashed before i could turn on the engines.
Gonna take some insurance with this SU
That seems very reasonable! How much were you expecting?
SU1 looks to have some good improvements in it for career mode.
Im pleased to see they are re-balancing the economy and mission distribution, and pretty sure they will keep monitoring this and refining moving forwards.
its a pity many items are marked as arrive later following the release of SU1, without a clear indication of what this means/when.
Im assuming it’s a server side change that’ll be pushed, perhaps these are done on a certain maintenance cycle e.g. once a week? it’d be nice for them to say when.. ‘later’ is so vague.
I think SU1 is pretty significant from the released version.
however, like you I played all the betas, so was kind of drip fed the improvements, so ofc, feels less impactful, as we already had the fixes etc.
also some things are not included in release notes, e.g they (partially) fixed the weather overall for the mission map, so quite a lot of QoL fixes that are not included.
in fairness, SU1 was slated to have the quick win fixes, many of the big ticket items were put into SU2 - which feels like it will be a much more significant release.
I’m wondering if SU1 won’t be the more dignificant release. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate there are some really big ticket items in SU2. It just that I am incorporating Marketplace in SU1, after all the release was meant to be contemporaneous. In terms of restoring the MSFS ecosystem to normality I reckon Marketplace is where it is at. If people can get back into the groove of getting excited about new stuff, incorporating it into their play… perhaps people will just have fun. Of course I appreciate everyone with cool hardware delivering 2FPS will tell me otherwise.
I suspect ‘significant’ depends on what you personally prioritise.
I think you’re right for some (those with existing content) , marketplace is huge. not so much for casual/new players.
then again, VR players are desperate for some items in SU2.
I meant more, that SU2 seems to have items that are more ‘involved’ from a development perspective, things that go a bit deeper (e.g. vram usage).
all that said, its going to take a while for MSFS24 to get to the state we’d all like, so each SU is going to chip away at it, rather than a particular one be a turning point. (imo)
however, for my needs, MSFS24 is already very enjoyable, good enough I could uninstall MSFS20, but I am more on the casual end of the spectrum - probably why I like career mode so much ![]()
SU1 installed. FS2024 does load a little faster for me. The SU1 installation process as better than the FS2020 update process for me.
Attempted to fly a 3hr sky dive mission. I had to rub my eyes as to why it was 3 hours but was worth 5K credits, so I jumped in.
I noticed that the cut scene of the jumpers walking to the aircraft (then walking into the aircraft was removed). Stared up the C-172 and was unable to get to the hold short as it was directly to my left without a procedural error. Tried to skip to it or just taxi the 3 feet over to it but nothing worked without a fault in procedure being declared. I ended up aborting the mission as I felt it would adversely impact my reputation rating.
In another heli mission (passenger transport) the contact ATC wouldn’t work… I could contact the ground services to get the passenger to the heli but kept getting hit with procedural errors to hover taxi or effectively try to fly any part of the mission. The contact ATC window appeared but I could not get it to activate / work…
After updating to SU1 my career Mode is broken. Every mission end at the beginn with a failure “You have crashed your airplane.” I tried it two times . The first in lite Cargo and tthe C172 and the second with the Cj4. It droped my Reps down to C and also my confidence. I am really offended.
Helicopter missions. In career mode, all missions with helicopters are still not flyable. Helicopter jumps around wildly, mission failed. Very annoying and incomprehensible.
After SU1 now I see VIP Charter missions everywhere (which is nice), but almost no private charters at all. And no missions to be seen with the VisionJet… Anybody else seeing this?
After SU1, Charter Missions are broken for Baron – much like they are for the CJ4. I have no Charter Missions anywhere in the world.
