Take any realtime mission when it is night time or take a daytime realtime mission and set the clock to night time.
Please do not come in here and complain about things you do not know for the sake of complaining…its getting really old.

Not any. If I’m not wrong, they added night missions for some types of missions but not all. Others will be added later.
Here I chose the first random mission and it looks like a night for me. Yes it looks weird with some invisible sources of rotating lights, without runway lights, etc… But it is a night mission in career mode, isn’t it?
Night flights are there in the career mode. Just look at the local times in the mission briefing. Be aware that most of the time the runways are short for a jet and 70% of the time there is no lighting on the runway when landing. You approach a dark black hole😱
I can confirm that Medium Cargo missions can be set to night (or any time of day), whereas Light Cargo mission times cannot be changed. those are the only two i’ve checked.
Medium vip missions with the pilatus also have night missions
Which airport is that?
I had a night flight appear (first time for me) this morning. It was a VIP one in the CJ4 from MMMD to KSDF.
this has now happened again, so I can (probably) confidently state that it is SU1’s solution to the old, old problem (dating from at least MSFSX, and probably eariler) of ATC being almost completely incapable of properly handling the descent phase of the flight.
shortly before you arrive at ToD, ATC will now simply throw up its hands in defeat and ask you to cancel IFR before running away with its tail between its legs. obviously this is a cop-out for the first water in lieu of a competent ATC, which would either proactively ask you to descend or at least accept “request descent” requests – but compared to the alternative (being continuously told to climb back to cruise and dinged for airmanship after being granted a lower altitude), it’s a massive improvement.
I assume this occurs because, although third parties (cough, Working Title, cough) have (finally) written competent VNAV path calculators for the various avionics packages, they have never been back-ported to the ATC codebase, which is likely a nearly unmaintainable frankensteinian horror of spaghetti code left over from the MSFSX days which genuinely has no freaking clue what altitude to clear you down to (hence why it used to leave it up to the player to request his or her own descent altitudes in 1000ft increments rather than suggesting an actual altitude itself).
I shelved the 2024 for the last 3 months, as the career mode was such a buggy mess. I tried a mission with the CJ4 today. And yes, there are missions for the CJ4 now, but nothing changed in reality. After 2 hours of flight, the mission tracking stops during the approach. I cannot contact the tower even manually. On the ground, I can contact the ground and get the parking spot, but the mission progress is still stuck on the approach, even though I am parked with tngines off. Lovely.
Maybe it was mission specific error. ATC can be highly unpredictable. I completed a CJ4 mission yesterday, which went OK apart from the mission not loading the CJ4 up with enough fuel (or the fuel burn being too high). I had to set a bindkey for adding 25% fuel to make it.
In my experience ATC is mostly just late in calling for descent. I do wait for that call as if I manually call for anything other than a temporary alt decent, it doesn’t work. After waiting for my late descent, I now just incorporate a manual descending HDG mode turn into the flightplan which will get me down to the correct altitude without gaining too much air speed. I don’t get marked down for doing this either which is good. You do seem to if you use speedbrakes too much so I’ve stopped using them.
I’ve had this happen as well. What I did to resolve this was take back off circle through the last checkpoint area then proceed to land. That’s when it gave me the prompts to taxi and park. I figured trying that was worth a shot. Giant waste of time though.
The Game’s “Mission” Forced ATC thing has a big problem. if you Follow all the Click this for Taxi,Takeoff under IFR it will work but only Just.. but if you go VFR and try to click it.. the Radio’s are dead.. can’t do anything… when picking VFR and clicking the buttom under mission for Tower the game thinks its not a real airport even if it is a Controlled one. then the rest of the time its fully bugged till you Restart flight and 90% of the time you can’t even inform Passengers… so getting that 100% airline bs wont happen.. and if you have a S Rank its going to bug EVERYTIME…S Rank bad… i have reported this but… nothing has come of it.. like normal. If they hired REAL people and stop trying to let AI Fix everything they might get things going but “AI is the Future its CHEAP” nothing will really get fixed.
I haven’t been able to fly in about a week and a half and today when I returned, I experienced the following issues multiple times at each KDEN and KLGA. Anyone else experiencing them as well?
Thanks for the feedback!
I gave career mode a try and quickly found it to be ridiculous. If I want that kind of challenge, I’ll load some game that was designed to challenge and entertain me not a simulator with an addon that was intended for marketing and bringing in new users. I am reading in these posts pretty much visceral frustration and anger at the bugs in this and wondering why anyone would continue on that path. Even without the bugs, what’s the point? There should be no penalties in this mode. It’s a simulator. It should be about the experience and encouraging you to see beyond your flying comfort zone. Whoever came up with this concept of punishment in missions needs to learn a bit more about human nature.
In my opinion, if career mode is what keeps you in FS 2024, then the draw of simply flying is not enough for you. There are far better games out there that will give you the experiences you are seeking and with enough tries you’ll be able to kill the boss monster and start the next phase without starting over. I hope Asobo concentrates on the sim aspects of this software and lets career mode fade to obscurity or makes it more about entertainment and learning.
I waisted time doing an unflyable flight by flying a PC24 flight to an airfield it can not land at because it was way too small for the pc24 because it forced me five go around trying to land a pc24 at GA27 airfield at night when you can’t even land there because of the light situation at GA27
Need to brief better. I also ended up in a Water Runaway with the PC24.
When ATC asks you to cancel IFR, it’s because you filed a VFR approach. It has nothing to do with a “cop-out”.
the same thing happened with a filed IFR approach. the ATC cleared me for the approach, then told me to cancel IFR so it didn’t have to deal with VNAV.
