Brillliant, thanks. I will look now.
TVSM has nothing but S340 missions for example.
TVSM? sorry not aware of that acronym? is it St Vincent and Grenadines?? googled that, dont know if it is right.
Mustique I think, but there are a lot of s340 missions around the Caribbean. Here’s another random airport there. Not sure about cargo/passenger mission split though. I don’t fly the S340(yet) -
Fab, will take some flights today. Will start with the airliners but will need to find some cargo missions which will also hopefully be around there.
340 is lovely to fly and is stable but there is a problem with the UNS1 communicating with the EFB and so the UNS has to be manually programmed. However, that is a mission in itself as it has to be done backwards from the STAR. There are some you tube vids but not many for the recent 2024 iteration. Most for 2020.
That’s no acronym, that’s an ICAO airport code, in that case for Mustique (as @BragRaindrop933 already said).
Yes thanks, I noted the reply
why an undesignated landing area? Filled this runway, landed this runway and there was no other available. Tried to contact ATC prior to landing on final but no joy. I used the frequency Msfs 2024 advised for contact
How i prevent this the next time?
In my experience, the only runway MSFS allows is the one that ATC states or that the pilot announces (at non-towered fields) in the ATC communication dialog.
What you file does not matter (which is actually similar to reality). The blue boxes often do not matter (see below). Even the wind doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is what was indicated the communication dialog.
However, if you requested a different runway, then accidentally do the auto-communicate script after that, it can switch it back to whatever the sim thinks it should be, like above, regardless of what you announced or were cleared for prior. In those cases, request a runway change and manually do the comms over again and it will fix it.
Read the Join the Sim Update 2 Beta Test - Microsoft Flight Simulator carefully …
Beginning with the Sim Update 2 Beta, Career and Challenge League will have separate progress and leaderboards from the live build.
This means Career mode progress in the live build will not carry over to the flighting build, and vice versa. In addition, Challenge League in the flighting build will have a separate leaderboard from the live build.
I’m confused. So we shouldn’t join? Or we won’t continue to progress?
It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t join. Just keep in mind that any progress you make while in the Beta will not carry over so when you exit the Beta or when the Beta ends you will be at the same progress level as you were before joining the Beta.
On the pro side of joining the beta: All specializations will be unlocked and they can let us test changes that they are not ready to rollout “globally”.
Hope this makes sense.
I already have most specialisations unlocked. So maybe a month more of zero progress but trying out new things. With the added risk that everything may or may not get flipped back correctly whenever SU2 releases. I’m torn.
I’m currently looking at it this way: While being in the Beta they can ding me for whatever they want (looking at you “restricted airspaces” and “airline procedures” …), it won’t ruin my reputation on the live build. Or at least it’s not supposed to … I guess we’ll see if it works as advertised soon enough
Exactly why I left the beta.
supposedly some of what you experiencing has been fixed for Beta 2 - read notes - it is looong!
oh, and for those that are interested, they’ve disabled sim rate acceleration in SU2 Career Mode going forward. for me, that’s the final straw.
EDIT: they’re reverting it.
they also talk about a Career Mode leaderboard, so they’re aiming to make it competitive (and probably monetized).
EDIT: I may have misinterpreted their wording regarding a Career Mode leaderboard, which admittedly was vague and unclear.
this can be taken to mean either:
-
“Career will have separate progress and leaderboards and Challenge League will have separate progress and leaderboards”, or alternatively,
-
“Career will have separate progress (pages) and Challenge League will have separate leaderboards”.
at law this is the question of whether an “and” clause should be read conjunctively or disjunctively. the normal legal rule is that “and” should be ready conjunctively – both conditions apply (in this case, to both subjects), which would mean the first interpretation is correct.
however, putting dimly remembered lawschool statute interpretation conundrums aside, from the context of other posts it appears that Asobo intended the SECOND meaning to apply i.e.
there is a Career Mode progress page, and a Challenge League leaderboard (presumably for landing challenges, or whatever).
that’s an insanely overlong way of admitting that I MIGHT have jumped the gun a tad on accusing Asobo of trying to turn Career Mode into a competition. thanks to @Newspawnz for pointing this out.
If thats true - I’m also out
They are talking about leaderboard in relation to Challenge League.
Beginning with the Sim Update 2 Beta, Career and Challenge League will have separate progress and leaderboards from the live build.
Progress => Career Mode
Leaderboard => Challenge League
This means Career mode progress in the live build will not carry over to the flighting build, and vice versa. In addition, Challenge League in the flighting build will have a separate leaderboard from the live build.
Leaderboard => Challenge League
Will my leaderboard records in Challenge League transfer when the flighting build becomes the live build
Leaderboard => Challenge League
It might not be the best wording in the first quoted part but it is pretty clear from the other parts.
so, it’s a personal Career progress page, not a global Leaderboard? that’s somewhat encouraging, although they didn’t word it very well.
however, that makes disabling sim-rate even less “necessary”, since your personal progress is private and nobody cares about it but you.
I’ve updated my earlier post in unnecessary detail to include your info.
