Some faces on the Character creation screen didn’t properly load (no eyes, not selectable, random humanoid model etc) and then a few click later it crashed to desktop after freezing the PC for a while.

Only gotten in once.

  2. Some don’t load properly

Same here - immediately ctd when clicking on any face.
Store version.

So it is any face now? I could at least cycle through a bunch before they started bugging out and crash soon after.

Any face, any other character customization.
First click leads to CTD.

edit:
I have skipped the personage creation in the initial install.

• Same issue: CTD whenever clicking in the character menu, including copilot etc…

• I have skipped the personage creation in the initial install (which, btw, took a bit long hence my impatience :-))

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• When starting a flight (from runway) , an external view show the red person with the “ERROR” panel, (standing in the T6 cockpit)

Steps to Reproduce (on Xbox Series X)
From Main Menu → RS in → Select Name → “Customize Identity” → (Avatar shows as a red man holding Error sign) → RB (Appearance) → A → Sound stutters then CTD.

Same - currently taking 10-15min to get to set up.

Go through the graphics settings

Reach character creation - click on the avatar, game freezes and crashes to desktop 30 seconds (ish) afterwards.

Ryzen 9950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, RTX 4090 running off a gen 4 NVME, installed to non-OS drive.

Same here.
After initial game run today I wait through loading screens to identity creation screen but there was any options to choose. Just menu options but nothing to choose so I click continue. After that, main menu appear so I want go back to customize character but i have same issues like @ [MstrSimpson] (Avatar shows as a red man holding Error sign and any action = crash to desktop)

Same problem.
Faces take a few minutes to load into the selection area. Better than it was. It took many minutes earlier in the day.
But click on any face and immediate freeze with CTD quickly following.

This is when selecting customize identity from the account page. I also skipped it during program installation.

Additional Info:

Resetting FS2024 and even a complete uninstall and re-install does not solve this problem on PC.

To make things worse, without character creation getting outside the aircraft is impossible (door does not open) and starting cold&dark is also impossible since the player spawns somewhere inside the cabin but is physically outide the aircraft.

Breaks the game completely.
So far I didn’t find a workaround.

I also have this problem. Can’t create avatar. On any selection game crash.

I have the same problem. Red man with error sign in flight. When I click on a face I get a CTD. Also on Xbox series x

Same problem here. Cold and dark or Career mode is impossible, as the red figure stands within the airplane without the option to move or enter.

Wish I’d seen your post before I tried an uninstall. I’m now back stuck at the 97% point :frowning:

Edit: a restart of the sim got me passed the 97% stage and it now appears I can edit my identity without CTD. However, I’m now stuck on the ‘Fly Now’ white circle of doom. 1 step forward and 2 back.

For additional info, I sometimes but not always, get an error box to accompany the CTD. Here is an example:

The only way I could FINALLY fix the red character error was:

0-. Uninstall the sim in Xbox App
1-. Open the sim in the streaming mode (Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on  Xbox.com)
2-. Use it for 5-10min
3-. Close the game
4-. In the same page, select the Settings icon.
5-. Select the Manage games tab.
6-. Erase your profile and save game
7-. Install the game again and DO NOT skip the initial character customization.

It worked for me after trying plenty of online suggestions, hope it helps.
