its on wishlist. I made one yesterday but it was removed, now its got back again! You will find it with a MSFS-2024 Tag
I’m confused, you made a wishlist for what?
Obviously I already made a wishlist for this, but, if you made one for what @DrHadron4701 suggested, you can link it here in your post for others to see.
@Dani788 is referring to:
Thanks so much!
No love for the T-6 here, seems it’s a bare bones port. Canopy doesn’t open at all, and a lot of the cockpit sounds seem to be missing too.
Same for the P-51, the canopy doesn’t open. And worse, I don’t understand why, but they replaced plenty of the original instruments with modernish ones and only the portside flap extends, a straight port from 2020 would have been better I was really hoping the T-6 and Mustang would get some systems depth and working canopys, but I didn’t expect them to be worse in 2024!
Shaking my head…
I haven’t tried many aircraft in MSFS2024 yet, but I found that the TBM930 has separate click spots for opening/closing the door and entering/exiting the plane, so it already does what this thread is asking for. On the other hand, the 172 works as seen in the tech alpha, with a single “open the door + enter/exit” action.
So the good news is, the system is already capable of this, and it just needs to be implemented on a per-plane basis.
Unbelievable. How could it actually get worse? I’m sure the flaps will get fixed eventually, but why replace the instruments, and why doesn’t the canopy work? As a warbird lover I’m speechless. Definitely not rushing to FS24 now (haven’t bought it yet until it gets out of beta). And unfortunately I don’t have enough HDD space on my system for both FS2020 and FS24, so whenever I do switch over it will have to be complete.
There’s a reason AH wasn’t hired to do any of the default planes…
Their development practices are… suspect.
It doesn’t seem like they plan anything out ahead of time on how to organize things, so their packages are just a mess.
This isn’t the AH version we’re talking about, is it? I thought it was the stock Asobo one.
Yeah I don’t understand it either. If they wanted to add modern instruments they could have just added this one as a separate version and keep the original one as is. It’s a real shame =/
As far as I know AH isn’t involved with this one. They released their own P-51 for MSFS. But it certainly feels like a stereotypical AH rushed job.
You’re correct, AH is not involved with the stock Asobo version. That’s why I was confused with AH being mentioned.
The first thing you do while taxiing to the runway and after landing in a GA aircraft is opening the door. The heat inside is unbearable. Not being able to open it, makes zero sense.
On the DA42 (the only one I’ve tried so far), there is a click spot to open the canopy, but I’ve yet to find one to enter and exit. I have to use the SHIFT+C key bind.
It seems like the issue is solved. The capability is there, but, they rushed the release so fast and so many people were developing stuff, there’s no consistency in setup, and, well, seems like they didn’t finish.
I think the best thing we can do is open a bug report for each plane and compile all the things that aren’t done yet.
I have noticed that the Cessna Citation Longitude allows me to open the door without being teleported, but if I use shift+C it will close the door and I have to move back from the cockpit to open it again
An improvement wish:
In the cockpit, when I open the door while the rotor is running, it automatically switches to 3rd person view. In my opinion, you should press Shift & C again to actually switch to this view.
In helicopter operations in hot days it‘s often that you’re open the door while rotor is still running.
It seems like there is a different way to get in and out of every airplane. It might be because I don’t use assistance tags but there have been times, I just can’t figure out how to get inside an airplane or get back out.
Could we have the following:
- Click on door handle to open close (no need to crank/pull on the handle)
- Click on the open space to get in out
Nice and simple!
