2024 still a disappointment!

sorry but i think its fair. i dont ask for study level. the C17 is waiting for updates since JANUARY
the PC-12 is unflyable.
the PC24 has so big problems with Flight model, autopilot, fuel etc.
only 3 examples.
all have no updates in SU3 and nobody knows what to expect with SU4 as it is not final released.

Yes, I know but it is getting better. I don’t doubt we will always have something to complain about but given the size of this project you have to give credit where it is due. Each SU will bring an improvement, sadly we have to be patient, this is a global scale Sim, the code is literally HUGE and will have some issues.
There is honestly much to enjoy, so much so I do not know which activity to do first and do not have the time to fit it all in. Yes, like everyone else, I will have to moan about things that are broken but still live in hope that the things that irk me will get a fix one day.

These forums are like every social media platform out there. You get a very distorted view of reality by reading the comments because complainers, bots, and people that just get a kick out of stirring up trouble in general have a much likelier chance of posting than the people that are content, happy, and just plodding along enjoying MSFS. Look for comments from people that, if they point out something wrong, do it with constructive criticism or are clearly trying to help others. My experience with 2024 has been largely positive but my comment should carry no more weight than any other responsible user.

I’d pay a subscription fee to have xplane (or MSFS) with Google-Earth-level detail/PG everywhere! Assuming it performs well in VR.

I don’t know the details obviously, but I bet it could be financed somehow if people tried and Google isn’t a complete extortionist about it. Lots of (free for consumers) apps use Google maps API, surely it could be similar to that?

I only play career mode with the 737 and, apart from ATC occasionally bugging or “entering taxiway without permission” i’m getting consistent results:

How many 737’s do you have?

A positive comment here should carry 10x the weight of the next one. People don’t typically come here to share praise.

I don’t think I said it should be banned? Merely pointed out to someone that it wasn’t realistic while they were speaking of immersion breaking. Let’s not exaggerate here.

0. I just fly the missions. Buying a 737 is a serious grind

SU4 still loses(removes) flights in logbook

The xbox fs24 saga is such a dissaster, they want to push this improved beta to save the console market…

So, off the mark! Not a disaster, and not an attempt to save the console market. Remember, this is one of the most complex simulations ever put on the consumer market.

Not so with the people I know on Series X at least, they have been having an absolute blast so far. Can you elaborate on why it is a disaster?

A disaster?. I’ve not long finished a flight from Manchester to Zurich, landing at Zurich at sunset. No disaster mate from start to finish. Absolute cool.

Could be because you’re flying in a beta flight, but I could be weinig.

2020 is still the best all round and yes 2024 is a arcade sim

How come? I use MSFS 2024 no differently than I did MSFS 2020 and currently no differently than I do X-Plane 12.

Well, perhaps I’m just an unreasonable grinch compared to you but:-
Whilst the performance of MSFS2024 has been seriously improved on Xbox, I’m not “having a blast”.
That performance improvement only came right at the end of the SU4 beta -last beta build in fact) after the Xbox issues were disregarded for practically a year of beta testing. To see how much serious testing of MSFS2024 is carried out on Xbox, you only have to look at the huge, overbearing mouse cursor - which has been with us from the very start of MSFS2024. It’s an embarrassment really and 1 minute of serious testing on an Xbox would have uncovered it.
SU4 has also broken many aircraft and systems when it introduced a raft of WASM instabilities and issues - the PMDG B777s suffer from long in flight freezes which start after around 25-30 mins of flight and then become more frequent.
The Just Flight RJ and F28 don’t load in free flight - the F28 can often be forced to load by restarting the flight several times.
Navigraph updates don’t work on many of the aircraft.
The sound drops in and out frequently when flights are loading and the GUI often freezes up on the world map for 10-25s.
These problems and more were all identified but disregarded by a dev team doubtless more excited to be working on Stranger Things DLC then fully completing a beta phase with the bit of QA that is needed to finish things off properly..
And most of the stock MSFS aircraft remain unfinished or totally broken, an IRL indictment of a development strategy that promotes quantity over quality.
So, no, I’m not “having a blast”. Some of MSfS2024 is stunningly beautiful of course - when it is all working it can be very immersive and an improvement on MSFS2024 - but if you’re a serious flyer who values the aircraft and systems more than anything else, then more than a year after its initial release MSFS2024 is a real mess - and the WASM instabilities that SU4 beta introduced are going to take many months of work by the third party developers and service providers (e.g., Navigraph) to put right.
Its hard to keep finding excuses for the lamentable lack of QA - and on Xbox, the lack of testing on COTS platforms that need it a bit more than for PC as we do not have the luxury ( actually when I was a PC owner it was sometimes a curse at each SU) of being able to make system tweaks, we rely(trust) the devs to get the balance right for us and it’s a trust that has often looked misplaced during 2025, sadly - though the recent performance improvement has provided us with some Christmas cheer….

Sounds like a first impression take, and not a very experienced one at that.

Sorry but did not use beta , only the release (SU4) in FreeFlight, spawned start but normal shutdown (aircraft and program). And it still removes a previous flight nearly every time.
