2024 System requirements

HI,

Sorry if this sounds daft but I have no idea on this stuff.

We are looking at a computer for my partner to start using FS2024 (yet to purchase).

She’s in the process of undertaking her PPL with plans to continue to CPL so looking for practicing procedures and processes etc. We’ve tried it on X box but very glitchy, especially as its online as an old Xbox.

Looking at something that has this spec:

Intel Core i7-2600 quad core processor running at 3.40 GHz, 16GB of RAM, and a GeForce GT730 4GB PCI-E GPU.
It features a 128GB SSD for fast data access and Windows 11 for a seamless computing experience, housed in a sleek black tower with RGB lighting, HDMI connectivity, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity (see full specification below).
It has been factory reset to Windows 11 install and has passed and overnight MemTest86 to verify integrity.
Processor : Intel i7 2600 3.40 GHz Quad Core
Installed RAM 16.0 GB : 2 x 8GB DDR3 1332MT
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
O/S : Windows 11 Home (clean install)
Motherboard : Intel DQ67OW
Trusted Platform Module 1.2
Graphics Card: GeForce GT730 4GB PCI-E
Storage : 128GB SSD
WiFi : TP-Link Archer T3U Plus MU-MIMO WiFi Dongle (802.11n, 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11ac)
Network : Intel Gigabit Network Adaptor

As I say sorry to sound useless but any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Well, “For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024), minimum specs include an Intel i7-6800K/Ryzen 5 2600X, GTX 970/RX 5700, 16GB RAM, while recommended specs jump to an i7-10700K/Ryzen 7 2700X, RTX 2080/RX 5700XT, and 32GB RAM for a good experience, with ideal specs pushing to i7-14700K/Ryzen 9 7900X, RTX 4080/RX 7900 XT, and even 64GB RAM for max settings, emphasizing strong multi-core CPUs and substantial memory for detailed city flying”

I personally run the Sim on i75930K (lower than requires) and RTX4060 and my settings are a mix of Low/High settings and it runs OK mostly, but sometimes I suffer as my CPU is an older technology and I think I have to upgrade. 4060card also has only 8Gig of memory and for this sim this is not enough for me to run it with goo quality

I was running MSFS2020 on the same system but with a GTX970 card and it was almost OK.

Intel i7 2600 is a good CPU and may be you can try it (check this link - someone was flying 2024 on i72600k clocked at 4.5ghz), but with your GeForce GT730 I afraid you are going to suffer from too low performance (there was an post on Facebook from someone running the Sim on this card and there were a lot of stutters).

I think you would not be happy with that level of PC. Go higher than the recommended spec and a cpu with at least a 5 ghz speed.
