As announced last week, this is the first edition of our new Weekly Briefing blog format. Please let us know what you think of the new weekly blog!

Thanks for listening to the community and amending the blog based on the received feedback. I think this format more clearly separates the different areas of (non-)interest, so that people can choose what they want to read, or not. To me it is a definite improvement so far.

I am curious about what others think of this new format.

I really like this new style. It’s clean and organized. Gives the Marketplace update more space on the extra page with all the new details. Also the community section which was always buried below the MP update and old feedback snapshots now is more prominent and visible. Well done

Finally a good update for LL FF series…its better late than never,)

Personally, for me the new format is much better. Looks cleaner and more professional.
What I especially like is the short term “roadmap” for the next week. Hope something like this will continue.
And I think the way it is written makes totally sense and should be possible for every week. F.e. I guess you might know one week in advance if there is a new Beta release in the making. Why not announce it like you did now with the SU4 potential release.

For me this does help manage expectations.

Just a small suggestion, maybe there could be also a short rolling forecast regarding the weekly community fly-in Friday.
Maybe just a short one liner about the one taking place the following week as well. This way people could familiarize themselves with the area in advance if they want to.
Again, just a one liner. Something like “And the following week (Friday 12th) we intend to explore the area around whatever place it will be”

Yes, at least it’s a very welcome start. Still makes me wonder how long it will take to get the Skyvan usable in 2024. It’s embarrassing that it is still completely broken more than a year after release of 2024.

When I click for new and updated products the page shows nothing for this week? Is this correct?

Really liking the new newsletter format. It looks great.

In a word, No!

Hi @Kulch

Thanks for making us aware! I’ll take a look at this shortly and see if I can get this fixed. :slightly_smiling_face:

The link should be working now to go to the Marketplace page for the week beginning December 1st. I’ll post it below also!

Thanks for making us aware

I really like the new format, It’s more clear and we finally have some patch note about the aircraft who has been updated

Just disapointed about the late release of the SU4, as PS5 users are already on this build, and we are on beta since september…

I just saw that when you scroll down in the Marketplace update, there are tables for the differnt categories (aircraft, liveries, missions, scenery, misc, airports). Not sure if this is really new, but I never noticed this before, and very welcome!

The weekly briefing is also a lot more readable and interesting than the old format. Well done!

I like the new method for these weekly blog posts. I’m enjoying the more vibrant way that info is being featured; it feels more in-depth. I also appreciate the redesign of the Marketplace update to feature 2024 first, and the way it’s clearly broken down the data for each sim. Plus, everything feels bigger and more clear; even if that is simply perception.

Why does the Dornier DO X still say unverified? It won’t allow me to enable it.

Edit: I did find the really obvious “Enable” after looking at my screenshot. However it still says Unverified. Is that normal? Also it shows wrong version. 0.2.1 instead of 0.2.0. I assume there was another upgrade today or something?

Same here. Most (all?) of them are still listed as unverified. They could start marking those as verified that actually work in 2024. Maybe that changes with SU4.

I also noticed the version number mismatch. I still think it’s very sad that we can’t see the release / change notes in the sim. Or at least make them easily accessible by providing a link in the sim that gets us to a web page with the release notes. Right now they are buried in that forums post that you have to know that it exists.

I sorta agree. I play on Steam so I got a notification about the change notes, but maybe other’s don’t. I think it would be better to have them in game though, although I don’t think that’s a standard thing for other games.

Really? You get change notes for MSFS updates in Steam? I sometimes get a link for updates of other games but I’ve never noticed that for MSFS.

Yep. Here’s what it looks like.

It doesn’t always give you every detail, but it will provide a link.

And that whole thing is just across the top of the Steam client when you’re looking at your game library by default. Like most things you can turn “Whats new” on or off.
