Looking forward to today’s leg from BGGH to BGKK. (West coast of Greenland to East coast of Greenland) I’ll be posting pictures of the weather an hour or two before flying. See ya there at 2030z.
EDIT: Wheels up has been moved to 1700z
For anyone interested in joining us, we typically hang out in the fe-general channel in the MSFS discord. See us there and have a chat!
Totally not a single person crashed at all, nope not one. And I definitely didn’t hit the ground in a flatspin in a Cessna before spawning in a DA62 with De-Icing equipment.
See you all at 2030z for the next leg from KGKK! (East coast of Greenland to Iceland)
Concluding our STAGE NINE of the 28° North Atlantic Crossing Event
Quiter weather today compared to yesterday and one thats see’s us complete a number of long range legs.
We have some shorter “hops” tomorrow over Iceland.
Plan for tomorrow: If anyone would like to join us, we’re going for an earlier take-off of 17:00z, feel free to join us on the groud at Rif (BIRF) ideally around 16:45z.
There were two other people when I got there. I was 20 miles out, and at 30,000ft so did this insane 8000fpm descent using a forward slip, making sure not to over speed. I hope the other two were watching that!
One had landed, and was just leaving the runway. The other was on final, and ATC was told me I was cleared to land, and was number 2. I’d never seen that before, so that was pretty cool. I made a very long downwind before turning on to base, and even so, with my nose up doing 82 knots, just as I crossed the threshold ATC told me to go around!
I don’t know what that other pilot was doing, but in that time I’d have been parked, and having a coffee.
Plans for tomorrow are undecided at this point, however either myself @drukqs11, @Zydobomb or @MerlinTheFrog will share our departure time from Scatsta (EGPM).
Those are lakes at the wrong elevation, if you were wondering.
Just looks naff
Wish I could make it remove the runway marker after takeoff, too, without having to disable the taxi ribbon in the settings, but that’s a moan for another day…
